This is my favorite closure for a macrame bracelet! How funny though, I do it opposite of the way you do it - I lay the first cord over and then go under and around with the second cord. I guess it doesn’t matter, you get to the same place both ways!! At the end, I make a double knot and glue it with GS Hypo glue and then cut the ends. I use a thread burner to melt down the ends… 💜

The clearest instructions for the knot. I found it useful for finishing my hand made "Hard clothing" for books. I need it to be adjustable, because some books are thin and some are thick. Thank you for the video, I wish you all well

Can you do this with embroidery thread, as well?
@ORCHIDandOPAL
@ORCHIDandOPAL 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tanya! You can. Keep in mind, though, the thinner the thread (like embroidery floss) the tighter the knots will be. A larger cord shows off the details of the knotting, and is also easier to work with until you have more practice. Thanks for watching! :)

Thanks so so much for this, my son came home with a simple cord bracelet that his teacher had given him, but the thing had come unraveled. There was the bracelet itself and a shorter piece of matching cord and he told me that the shorter cord was used to tighten it somehow. For the life of me I couldn't work out how until I found this video, this is so simple and ingenious! I've saved for the future. Much appreciated!

Hi Skye! I would probably say your best bet is to take a brand new segment of cord and create a new, secure knot. Thanks for watching! :)
