Here are the Bulbophyllums...I am really fascinated with this group of orchids! Each is more complicated, different and alien than the other :) These are the ones that I've had in my case so far...

Ok, this is definitely an above average interest in Bulbophyllums 😍 You are without a doubt, having success with this genera. To be able to bloom a good majority of these is quite a feat. Eliz Ann Buckleberry seems to be a favorite of many. I can't wait to see if my claptonaese is as nice as yours. Most flowers in this genera are intricately ornate, always on the edge of being beautiful yet whimsical. I Have limited success with these and it pains me that they only live on average, for a few years in my conditions. If they do manage to live longer, I find they are dormant for a good part of the year. They probably need it warmer and more humid than what I can give them...oh well.
@Orchidomania6 жыл бұрын
ResQuetzal ...Thanks very much 😀 I am trying my best with them...some are pictures from the Internet to illustrate what they look like. If you need more humidity just put them in Sphagnum moss...really works great! Or a mix of moss and bark and seramis...does wonders for humidity!!! If you have a spray/mister you can mist in the morning s as you brush your teeth kinda thing...maybe 2/3 times per week. Of course the mounted ones...is a different story! I am really crossing my fingers for the polliculosum (aka rarest orchid) but also physometrum (also super rare)..dying to see blooms from them! Have a stupendous weekend 😉🌻🌼🌺🏵🌹⚘🌷🌸💐

Hi! I think the last one is ovalifolium. Moniliforme doesnt have any leaves and also is rounder and smaller

Thanks 😊you are right! It's not monoliforme...I meant to change it.Thanks again😉

Loved it! I always want to see how the plants look like etc, since it can be difficult sometimes to deal with creeping bulbos on normal houses. I love B claptonense. I have been like half a year wanting a bulbo from the lobii compound, and when I recently found claptonense is pine and citrus fragrant (yasssss) and yours looks so compact growing! Shame I only found it on a nursery in EU so far, but I guess I can wait. How long do the blooms last for you? Also, is it true that B. grandiflorum smells a bit like pepper? I remember somebody saying his plant smelled like pepper when he watered it even, not just the bloom.
@Orchidomania6 жыл бұрын
NesuChambers ...so far no pepper smell for Grandiflorum 😕 Claptonaese is awesome in the summer when the sun shines on it...blooms last about a week but it's blooming all the time in the summer! Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting again 🌺🌹🏵🌷🌼🌻 Till next time 🌸😊

A question if you don't mind. I am very enchanted by the Bulbo. claptonense. Did you get yours from Kopf? They have a promotion going on and are the only nurserie that carries it. Since it was just recently declared a species, many nurseries still have them as lobbii variety. I want a fragrant one so I thought it you got it from the same place they should have very similar characteristics, and yours fits all my needs :) Thanks in advance ^^ this video was already quite helpful

NesuChambers ...Yep it's from Kopf 👍Good detective skills 🕵️♂️ Glad to hear you found it useful 😊
@NesuChambers6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the fast answer! I'm waiting on a wishlist check from them, and knowing this I will probably order. It's very hard to get confirmation of any species from the lobbii group being fragrant from nurseries. I will probably ask you a question or two about care if I do get it :) Looking forward to more vids ^^

Awesome collection of bulbos, some of those blooms I see for the first time. What is the mix you are using for potted ones? They look so healthy....
@Orchidomania6 жыл бұрын
Orchideya ....Thank you 😊 I have some planted in sphagnum moss (claptonaese, rothschildianum), some in a bark/seramis (dearei, papulosum), some in a bark/seramis/sphagnum mix (Elisabeth Buckleberry) ...most are mounted. Have a great weekend 🌷🌺🌼🌹🏵🌻
