Really nice that we're still having some fantasy batrep. There was a pretty important mistake at 10:30 : the giant is T5, not T6 ! The wild riders should have killed him (there were 2 4s), which would probably have changed a lot of things afterwards.

Yep this game is a repost from Steve's channel I believe (or maybe the main MWG channel) and it still bothers me seeing it again. Game changing mistakes like that shouldn't be happening when Steve has been playing the game for like a decade or more. It's not even like it's an obscure rule that rarely comes up, he uses giants almost all the time.

That chariot fighting the guards only had two wounds left going into that fight Steve grabbed the wrong dice at 34:04. So that chariot should have died to the guards and the blade wind would be sent against the goblins! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good to see some people still playing this game. I’m an old wood elf player. The unit selection and items could have be improved as well as playing to wood elves strengths. There speed and mobility. Woodies are not a head to head army. Against armies with giants and high toughness units hagbane arrows are key. You don’t need to give every unit of archers magic arrows. Save the points and take an eagle or two to screen out fanatics. Need more wood templates in the center of the table.

I don't know if it would have mattered, but the elves at 31:50 I think are steadfast. Also, the Eternal Guard don't have had weapons; they can't parry.

Eternal Guard have Hand Weapons and Asrai Spears, I'm looking at the profile in my 8th ed book right now. I can't remember if they can use them to parry though, as they have to fight with the spears iirc.

@@porcu12345 You can't choose to use hand weapon if you have a more 'special' one equipped. Don't know why they bother including it in the profile, but that's GW rulebook authoring for ya

so much cheating, T6 Giant? Fanatics don't kill each other behind the unit and should've randomized hits in combat with the chariot. steadfast elven archers in the woods. switch up dice in your advantage, suggesting the template to kill a fanatic when it could've hit a full health orc chariot and goblin archers. Even for a for fun match, that's a lot of cheating!

This one time actually nope because they're in a forest, and wood elves are not exempt from this rule. Considering their track record they probably didn't consider this though. But the eternal guard charge should have been in the flank and giant like you said should have died turn 1 leaving two full units of wild riders on the board.
