I went down the rabbit hole with the second problem, twice. First I didn't reduce and I multiply by a reciprocal when it was suppose to be a straight across multiplication. I got 2625/10. The second attempt, I kept the denominator the same when I should have multiply across. I got 21. Then in your solution, I saw all my errors. Now what is the rule for keeping a common denominator or multiply across. At this point, I'm in the rabbit hole with a flash light; thinking about addition and multiplication fractions with common denominators.
@Mathispower4u11 ай бұрын
I don't quite follow what you did on your second attempt. Your efforts of trying to master your understanding of fractions operations will pay off. I think you probably just need some additional practice. I know it can get frustrating, but please keep at it and you will get there.

On 2:15 on the second example you multiply then divided but what if my example is backwards, my example is 7/9 divided by 1/3 multipled by 1/6 . How do i go by solving this

At 5:12 if it was a square root of 5 instead of 2 would we still have to write out the fraction and multiply them 5 times before we do the rest of the problem?

1:24: A quicker way to do that is instead of doing *7/10 x 3/5* you can do *7/10 x 2/5 *divided by *2/3* all at once but don’t forget to flip the *2/3* into *3/2* when working it out then you find the biggest fraction when doing cancellation for example if there is a *2* in the numerator and another *2* in the denominator then you would cancel those both to one but say there is a *2* and a *4* then you would still do fill because it is the bigger fraction. You will still get the same answer of *21/50* but this way is just a bit quicker in solving the problem.

I literally have a "test" in an hour so if u could give me the answer by then that would be really helpful, but no rush. I tried to search on Google for an answer but couldn't find one.

Y'all have the thinking process of a peanut. The teacher can be well, the student can listen properly, but maths can get so complicated down the line that your brain just blanks. Asking for help may not always result in you suddenly improving, so you're done for afterwards.

I cant seem to remember things when it comes to math. I watch your videos and understand perfectly (which has never happened before by the way so thank you), I do the problems and when I move on to something else I seem to forget or get instructions confused. Ok, so my question is: when you are simplifying, its different if you are simplifying a multiplication/division problem (LEAST COMMON FACTOR) or an addition/subtraction problem (FIND LEAST COMMON DENOMINATOR) every time?

just think about it.people make a lot of mistakes when doing a problem like 5+10x5.well a lot of people would add 5+10 and that would equal 15 and then multiply 15x5 and get 75.BUT that's not the right way to do it.you need to first multiply 10x5 and you get 50,then you add the five.you get 55.that's your correct asnwer.people need to learn that you always multiply or divide first,then subtract and add.that's why its important to learn it.
