Just want to be clear, this turtle was shipped overnight. It took 5 days to arrive because this company doesn’t ship on weekends. The turtle was in the box for less than 24 hours. This is not abusive, I guarantee the turtle slept through nearly the entire trip. He’s also captive bred, meaning he simply would not even know how to survive in the wild. I promise he’s in good care. Anyways, thanks for watching, & if you wanna see more turtle/fish content, please consider subscribing!

People don't know much about these turtles but they are very capable of slowing their metabolism down when they get underwater under rocks and that kind of thing where they don't need take a breath for long periods of time they can stash air up inside their shell I entered air inside that Box were not talking about you know wrapped in cellophane or anything like that they usually at least use only like paper to pack it in and there's always a little hole or 2 in the little plastic cup I bordered all my tortoises online I made a mistake one time and I ordered A Herman's tortoise from Florida but I did it in October and I thought OK I'll get before it gets cold and it got back

if you want to ge a pet turtle you will need to do extensive research but they count as minimal attention animals and they do need to be rained but they will get very tame by 2 months if they are babies and if only if you regularly try and tame them, please get the proper requirements for them and if you do get them it’s so nice to watch them and do not overfeed them
@Mprime873 жыл бұрын
The sand looks dope. You can also do a tank cover for the top where you can hide the basking area/lights. Makes the tank look a lot nicer. I would have left the sand. Maybe harder to clean though. Get some driftwood, attach some anubias. maybe get some co2 going. better lighting, etc.

Hey Carson I really like the water up I have for these guys and I'm glad to see that they Sheldon took to him well I think this is a good example on the max size difference between the two.once R.E.S get to a age\size can tend to be piggies let's eat first find out later. Anyways there I one major thing I want to recommend is (especially from pet stores) when getting a new additions may it be turtle, plant, fish (rock ,pebbles you can boil) is to have a 2wk quarantine set up, just so you can see how their health is checking for any kind of contagion or something that can be detrimental to your set up. Also this most important if you use feeder fish you should set up your own, that way you know there diet and their environment, not quarntining is one of the most common way people loose their little.buddies to entire paladuims I myself lost an entire 50gl of 25-30 Cichlids had one demsy and one of 2 Oscar make it all for a parisite from a pair of Cichlids I order online the store had an amazing reputation I had purchase for other online aquatic it just so happens this place has exactly what I was looking for, and about half the price😓 got them next day female died 3-4 days after I chalked it up to shock then the male died 3days later I noticed some issues and had some concerns but I was blind sided a month and a half later lost 99% so take my advice and quarantine

Oh a little tip for the floating island. Buy 4 little neodymium magnets n glue 2 onto the island. Then put the island in the corner where u want it n the other 2 magnets put on the outside of the tank lined up with the magnets on the island. N there ya go. Itll stay there n nothing will get caught n when u need to take it out to clean just pull the ones on the outside off n there ya go. HOWEVER BE CAREFUL when u are putting the magnets to lineup. Do NOT let them jump outta ur hand n smash into the glass. Hold them tight n slowly put them together

It’s so funny how cheap turtles are in the states, here in Australia turtles are protected and we aren’t allowed foreign reptiles so an average price for a turtle is around $120 per turtle. Pink belly side necks are native to New Guinea and northern Australia and they are really rare and they average around $500 plus if you’re lucky

when i got my turtle, creek. my family and i were on a bike ride and we were on our way home. my stepdad and my siblings were in the front, i was in the middle and my mom was in the back, my stepdad, siblings and i were riding and my mom suddenly stopped and called “turtle!” i slammed on my breaks and propped my bike up as i saw the turtle, my mom picked up the turtle “can i hold it?” i asked, visibly eager my mom nodded “okay, be careful though, it’s probably scared.” she said as she gave me the turtle. time skip to when we came home, we brought the turtle home and my mom instantly got onto her phone and started some research, mostly how to tell what it’s gender was, “its a girl.” she confirmed. “can we keep her?” i asked, my mom gave me a hesitant glance “i’ll talk with bill.” (bill is my stepdad) i walked over to the container the turtle was in “im going to name you creek.” i said, proudly my mom gave me the “dont get too attached” look. my cat, lily kept trying to eat creek so we put the container she was in into a box. creek also looked about 3 months old. she was quite small and her shell was cracked. the next day my mom was on her phone as i went downstairs “what are you doing?” i asked. she looked focused “getting a tank for the turtle.” she replied, not looking up from her phone “we’re keeping her?” my heart exploded out of my chest “we’re keeping her.” one hour later my mom and i went to our local petsmart to pick up the tank. once we got home we set up the tank and a few hours later my dad and came to my moms house to pick me up because i get to go to his house every other weekend then i started researching about turtles on youtube and i found your channel. i was really anxious to be away from the turtle because im practically the only one in my mom’s household who can keep an aquatic pet alive but i came back and she was alive. its been about 2 months since we got her. thank you for everything and for teaching me so so much:)

When should I feed my turtle? He's always begging and I only try and feed once a day. What time of the day is a good time
@Trecherousbeast4 жыл бұрын
I don't think there's any particular time to do it. Turtles are opportunistic eaters, so they'll eat pretty much anytime they get. Sometimes even when they're full. He probably just sees you as a food source, so he'll try to get something out of you everytime he sees you, even if he probably shouldn't be eating.
@silentscales86314 жыл бұрын
When They are Hatchlings, up to About a Year Old, feed Them Everysingle Day, between 1-2/3 feed them one day, ans Not the Other one or skip 2 Days. After that, about 2-3 Times a Week. You Should feed them All they want Until they just Stop Looking/eating the food, then Remove all the Leftovers, If You See them Getting Overwight (especially Snappers) cut down the Amount Of Food You see necessary. It has Worked for me for many Years, Hope It Helps you Too😃

We feed them dried shrimp, crickets, and the small ReptoMin food sticks. And they live in a 50-gallon tank with a Whisper filter. Thank You
@sideshow_pya3 жыл бұрын
Well if it helps I have a red eared slider too and most of the time the left over food is what gets the water dirty. I'd recommend taking out the leftovers with a fishnet and if some are by the filter i move them out with a stick and catch them. Also changing the filter cartridges out like twice a week. and opening up the filter when there's a lot of build up. I recently bought an aquarium gravel cleaner and well i don't have gravel in the tank, but sometimes the food sinks down so i would use it and it sucks up all the food and everything. It sucks out water too and it's good since it's good to replace the water every now and then. Hope this helps sorry if it was so long 😊

I got my two baby mud turtles from them! Luckily I live in Florida, so the trip wasn’t too far. Just keep an eye on him bc my turtles got to me with beginning stages of a respiratory infection. Not sure if it was from their hatchery or just traveling, but just keep an eye on him! I took my babies to the vet, and they said since they were so small it’d very hard to give them antibiotics bc they have to do it by injection. But they were stable and not in desperate need of medication. I’ve just been keeping their temps at the higher end of the recommended range, and they’ve been doing great. Baby turtles are notorious for weak immune systems. Just a heads up!! Toby is frickin adorable.
