First, he sped up the tempo just a wee bit. Ironic because the constant repetition of the song is to "take it slow." Then, he layered it with (his?) background vocals, riffs, and runs. Next, he added a variety of intonations in places where John Legend forgot, didn't bother to, or might not have known how to do. Additionally, he performed vocal acrobatics that smoothly shifted from chest to belt while scaling the stairs up and down with a lot of twists in between and doing it so quickly and tastefully you can't really monitor how the heck he was still singing. This so pleasurable to listen! At the end of it you are left with the question: How can you, Daryl, make an easy song complex, yet manage to make your complex version seem so easy? Would you please do some more of these so we might find some answers? Needless to say, I'm a fan!

Watching this video again gives me a headache.. but in a good way. Really!! I feel like I'm in Magic Mountain in that 'REVENGE OF MONTE ZUMA" ride. Hahahaha. OMG.....I fell in Love with John Legend due to this song, and on a US TV show called Duets, he selected a fella name Johnny Gray and they did this song, but BRUH....you picked it up, swung it around your head and made me love this even more. Daryl I even tweeted the the link to this, to Chrissy Teigen ( John's wife) You need more recognition young man. Such a soulful and R&B tone, that draws the listener in.
