You know what, I've listened to a lot of covers of this song, and while many of them are quite good, there was something missing in all of them, and I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. I realized what 'it' was when I heard your version. The original always brings tears to my eyes. Yours brought tears to my eyes. You've captured the essence of it, particulary the ending, which was very original. I wish I could see you perform!

Years back, I wrote a scene that lined up with this song (imagine the way a TV show montage might be synced to a song). This was the specific version of the song that I set the scene to (and linked people to listen to). I got reminded of that scene I wrote, how effective it was to some readers, and how bittersweet writing that story was in general. If I had to pick a single song to represent that entire narrative it would honestly be this song, specifically a sung by this person. I still revisit it once in a while and let myself feel all of those complicated emotions I was going through back then. Thanks for making this beautiful cover of this track. Whenever I think of this song, this is the specific version that is the ‘canon’ version in my mind. You were inspired by Duran Duran and put your own spin on it, the same I was when I wrote my story. I love the way human made creation can inspire us in that way. 💕⚡️

that is my 1989 Takamine FP-360SC (Pete Townsend G-Series). her name is Queenie. my mom bought her new, and i inherited her when i was 16. we've been inseparable ever since. she needs a refret job after 20+ years of banging, but she is the awesomest guitar. a total workhorse. i'm not terribly fond of the pickup, but miked, she sounds as good as any boutique guitar, if not better!! i love her. :)

THIS IS 100% THE BEST COVER I'VE HEARD IN AGES. SO INCREDIBLE. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. DON'T LISTEN TO ANY NEGATIVITY THAT MIGHT BE COMMENTED. Your tone the tone of that guitar and even that reverb some say is excessive. Nope. I say it's perfect. If I was a producer you'd be signed for sure with this one. Great choice of song too.
