The Japanese are SO polite. When the crowd rushed the minions, the castmember is shouting "I'm sorry!" and telling them to please stand behind the line. Also you can hear every castmember saying the super polite thank you: Arigato gozaimasu thousands of times a day.

Congrats Peter on conquering the Flying Dinosaur as that is considered by coaster enthusiasts to be one of the most intense coasters on the planet. I haven't ridden it but I have ridden it's brothers in California and Florida and can say they are amazingly insane.

My kids said that they most enjoyed something called the “Detective Conan” show…and SING!:Live, actually! (Unfortunately it was INSANELY crowded in late May when they were there and my daughter, who has some problem with crowds had a very difficult time there both days)…Oh and my daughter is Also a Hufflepuff while my son is a Gryffindor, and they also found the Hippogiff show really a pleasant surprise!

I use to go to Disney several times a year when I was younger and lived in Florida. If I ever decide to go to Disney and Universal Studios again I am going to the ones in Japan. It looks more magical and fun than the ones here in the US. They really go over the top to make a great experience. That Hippogriff was awesome.

I went to HHN this year at USJ and I highly recommend it! It was super fun and although they didn’t really have as many mazes as USH or USO, I thought it was fantastic. It’s very different from HHN in the states but in a good way! Their scare actors aren’t as intense but their costumes are so funky and weird that they can spook you from just a glance! The Chucky maze they had this year got me good a couple times and their Biohazard show was one of the coolest shows I’ve ever seen in a theme park! I hope you guys get the chance to experience it in the future :)

The Minions ride is different in Japan than the one in Florida. You get loaded into your own car, which then lifts up and then the ride starts. We liked it better than the one in Florida - more immersive that way.

Looking forward to the next USJ installment! I share the same sentiments - only have been to Hollywood so I didn’t have too many expectations for USJ. I went earlier this month and found myself absolutely charmed by this park! Hopefully you guys did Hollywood Dream! I can only handle the coasters at Disneyland and was so scared of going, but I LOVED it! I was also very lucky that I got to experience Donkey Kong Country in technical rehearsal! I was shocked that Peter was concerned he wouldn’t fit on the roller coaster. He looks pretty thin to me. Maybe the seats are smaller in Japan lol. I’ve always been a Universal girl when compared to Disney and Japan universal looks awesome😮. It’s nice that people put so much care into what they produce there, even though the pay is very low. That’s why it’s so cheap there compared to US. Great for us that are visiting, but not so good for the residents of Japan. I guess it could be worse and be like America where pay is low and everything is super expensive lol. I really miss Jaws though.😭

While you're in Osaka, go to a bakery and try the toast with a fried egg on top. So freaking good. I still dream about it!!

There's a bakery at the bottom of the Temma station on the loop line that sells them, but I saw them at multiple bakeries. The melon pan is also amazing. In Osaka we had a watermelon version that had chocolate chips as the "seeds". Delicious.

So happy to finally watch OA at universal Osaka…I feel so nostalgic watching this…even if I had the hot version, I also found the butterbeer in Japan to be less sweet than the US version (glad to know it’s not just me 😅)…and I’m so happy that Peter enjoyed the Flying Dinosaur (I get sick like Kitra and REFUSED to go on it, lol)~

46:10…Aww, Man! I STILL REALLY MISS BeetleJuice’s Graveyard Review! Used to Never miss it at Universal Hollywood whenever we went (the version in Orlando was kind of a pale imitation but it was loads better than F&F: Supercharged)…this version is a lot closer to the old Hollywood version!

How much spending money would you guys recommend to save and have available for a trip like this to Japan?

That’s a really hard question to answer because it really depends on how much you’re spending on hotel or airfare. But honestly I’d tell you food and anything you buy in Japan is so much cheaper than in the states so plan to spend less than you would here.

I'm in Osaka at the moment and I will be at Universal tomorrow, hopefully you see this message before then but I have a question: My husband and I received two random time slots to enter certain sections such as Harry Potter and Nintendo world etc. Is there an information office or ticketing office around there that may allow us to get the same timeslots? Thank you!

Welcome to Universal Japan. I'm Happy for the Jaws Ride Still Lives on There. It's Rare that You Got Jim Henson's Muppets of Sesame Street and Charlie Brown Characters in Their Universal Studios (Mix Up of Knott's Bear-y Farm and SeaWorld) of Japan while Our Universal Studios got Hanna-Barbera and Nicktoons Characters in the States. I Can't Wait to Try Universal Studio Japan in Fall 2025 (with Alongside Donkey Kong Country)
