@@amermeleitor That's not count, it's almost the same meaning as Mark I/II/III/IV in higher tier product. They really never use 4 in their model without a case of counting up number for newer model chronologically which they never do for their upper end products.

In my opinion, Canon really needs to stop taking notes from Apple and stop pumping out camera bodies with EXTREMELY incremental improvements (as they're grossly over saturated to begin with) and instead shift focus to their (frankly lackluster) lens ecosystem. Both Sony and Nikon offer a solid lineup of lenses and are open to 3rd party lenses, what's Canon's excuse?...

I consistently experienced worse image stabilization performance on the R8 compared to the R10, regardless of my efforts to improve it. I was able to successfully shoot at remarkably slow shutter speeds with the R10, but my success rate with the R8 seems to be significantly lower. This may be due to more restricted movement of the stabilizing element within the lens to ensure coverage of the entire sensor area.

The camera I believe canon might come up with is like an r5mark ii inside a smaller body like an R8 and position is close to R6ii but still missing key features like ibis, dual card slots etc. pricing it at 2000 usd might target customers who want a high mega pixels camera at lower cost. Hi Simon, only got 6 min into the video (for now), before rushing to another meeting here. There's no way an R4 will happen .. EVER. Simply because in Japan is the 4 is even much worse than 13 in the USA 😛 An R2 and R9 can still happen someday, not an R4 !

The size of the image circle that a lens provides is a physical limit to the amount of Ibis. You can't move the sensor out of the image circle and even moving the sensor close to the edge of the image circle cause a lot of vignetting that has to be corrected digitally. So the additional stop of Ibis might just mean that the camera relies on digital vignetting correction even more than before. Nine stops means 512 times the exposure time.

This all came from a really put together video that came up on my your feed this week I think. I think the R2,R4 & R9 were left out to fill speciality cameras as trends change. Obviously Canon R&D department already have such cameras and just waiting until the competition drops there's, however I do think canon will give us a Megapixel camera somewhere in the 30a but it would make sense to build that into the R6 instead of creating a whole new line of cameras. What Canon may do is since the R6 is sort of a baby R3 they may create a big brother to the R5 and call it the R4, or king of all crop-sensors and call it the R4,who really knows? What I know is they have a camera for every situation and from a business standpoint it wouldn't make sense to add a new line right now but update the current lines the R3/5/6/7&8. I think the king of crops will take the R4 spot eventually.

Didn't a Canon rep indicate that the R3 is not going away? When you look at these "rumored specs", would it be too difficult to see this as a description of an R3ii? I could list a bunch of reasons, but that's what your channel is all about. I loved so many things about the R3, but I realized pretty quickly that it really only made sense if I looked at it as a sports shooter (and I don't shoot sports). I sold it when they were in short supply and got virtually everything I paid for it. I could make a pretty strong case that the R3 didn't sit "above" the R5 in many aspects other than as a sports camera. It's not as strong for wildlife, especially birds. It just isn't. And now we have the R5ii, which makes that even more apparent. When the R1 was released, a lot of people asked if it wasn't basically an R3ii, didn't they? So I'll ask again, a different way. Wouldn't the camera you just described make a lot of sense as an R3ii? Wouldn't it make for a more capable R3, without directly cannibalizing the pro-level sports shooter niche that the R1 occupies? More general purpose than the original R3? The thought of something sitting "between" the R3 and the R5ii just doesn't make sense, especially since they would then have to slot in an R3ii. But as an expanded version of the original R3, this camera makes quite a lot of sense - to me at least.

I agree with you Simon. The next logical next step in megapixel counting to fit between the R5 and the current R6 mark II would be 32 megapixels and would logically be in the R6 Mark iii. I would think an R4 might be a larger 60 megapixel if anything, above the R5. Then what about the R3?? Although a Quad Autofocusing System would go nicely with the name R4. lol

My expectations that after the R7mii we will see a significant change in the software on the camera. I suspect that the current operating system holds back Bluetooth and wifi connectivity from both a stability and raw performance. My guess is the current os is primitive, and will be replaced by a Preemptive multitasking os. The camera menu system will become an app.

Canon DESPERATELY needs to release a mirrorless body competitor to the FX3. Call it the R4, R2, R5CII or C50 whatever. It needs a full frame sensor with dual /triple base iso and 4k up to at least 60. If they put the C80 sensor in a mirrorless body I’d pay $5000 for it. If they don’t they will never catch up to Sony in video
