I guess it's just how the church was designed. Prior to a renovation many years ago, there used to be a metal screen that covered the loft. Unique as it is, this is a good improvement. And whether in front or in back it still leads the congregation well, which is all that counts.

One needs to realize that this video was taken from the REAR of the Cathedral, so by the time the sound gets absorbed by all the people the sound becomes a bit depleted. Also take into account a singing congregation !! IMHO, the Cathedral could use a small gallery division in the balcony. And this is an actual PIPE ORGAN, not an Allen. It's originally a Moller, but heavily revised by a previous organist of the Cathedral.

Brass sounds excellent, choir is good too. The organist needs to turn the volume up quite a bit, though!
