This is Part 3 of the Ordnance Survey demonstration where I show you how to use the Ordnance Survey Mobile App interface and your routes. You can watch Part 1 - • Ordnance Survey App - ... and Part 2 - • Ordnance Survey App - ... by clicking the links. The digital platforms provided by Ordnance Survey, online and mobile, are a much welcomed addition to their already established and vast array of hardcopy paper maps which I’ve been enjoying for many years.

»» ABOUT ME ««
--------
My name is Shameer, I am an outdoor photographer, video creator and adventurer. I live in London. My mission is to hike, mountain bike or whatever it takes to find the hidden gems of the British Isles so that I can bring you on my journey with the most beautiful photographs and storytelling.
Why? I want to inspire you and the younger generation to appreciate our natural environment, to protect it and to venture out and live a little. Go explore, make new friends and see new places. Make a difference to your life and wellbeing.
“My project endeavours to help us appreciate nature’s wonders by inspiring a connection between people and the great outdoors. I use photography and video as communication tools for understanding and creating awareness across our natural environment and conservation.”
A lightbulb moment answered one of the biggest questions of my life, “what could I do to inspire others to protect our natural environment that is so crucial for our mental health and wellbeing?” - It was a simple answer… I would explore the wilderness, story-tell through words, photographs and video, and tell everyone about it. Especially, to empower families and the next generation to protect our wilderness by actually visiting these breathtaking, fragile places.

Thank you, Mark 🙏 I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few months under lockdown creating my own routes in anticipation of when we can roam. Both for thru-hikes and bikepacking. I wanted to give others the same motivation and inspiration for what they too can look forward to when we have the freedom to roam. Yes, took a lot of work to put the series together, and I hope it inspires people ☺️ thanks again.

Nice vid man. I followed along nicely. One thing I was looking for - future topic(?), is using the mobile app while out on a walk. In particular I have problems understanding which way the little pointer moves and why (current position)? Sometimes it goes down the map sometimes up and I get confused so end up walking 20 meters this way and that way to try and establish I'm going the right way! I'm guess I'm looking for google maps like when I'm in the car.

Hi Ian, thank you for watching and great to have you on my channel. Whilst using the OS app on route, have you tried tapping the target icon on bottom right of the app? That should bring you back to your gps location and arrow should subsequently point in the follow route direction. Try it. I have done a video on the mobile app and perhaps you will pick up more tips here kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6LLm4hqpauGp9U If you can’t click on the link, just go to my KZbin channel and the video will be there 😊 Have a great weekend!

Tap the target icon to centre the pointer and direction. That should sort the problem.
