I really enjoyed this and love your approach: have the idea and then just jump right in and do it! Exactly what people like Don Letts and Amos Poe & Ivan Kral did in London and NYC first time around. Very in-keeping with the music! I particularly liked Limited Express Has Gone. The singer has great live presence! Thanks for posting, Fillipo.

HA! You're too kind, I wish I was that impactful or talented. But yeah, I guess being young and directionless is the perfect jumping point for just doing stuff without second thoughts. They might come rough and amateurish, but the heart is there.

limited express has gone ! WOW... nice one!... i was doing other things and just listening to the documentary... but I had to stop it... thats my kind of "weird punk" I love, and japan is an expert on weird "Punk" and music in general!... thanx for that... i didnt knew them!

Drawn in by the thumbnail. I recognise Yukari. I'm a big fan of both Limited Express (has gone?) and Ni-Hao!!, and have seen both of those acts live. Looking forward to watching this tonight! Thank you.

Hey man, love this little documentary. Having a hard time making out the name of the prefecture/neighborhood you speak about at 8:06. Are you saying "Koenji"? Just want to know so I can make sure to visit it next time I go to Japan. Anyways keep up the cool work🤘🏼🤘🏼

Hey there! Sorry for not replying sooner. Yes, the neighborhood I am talking about is called Koenji. Definitely worth checking out! You can check out another cool documentary about this neighborhood and it's musical roots I strumbled upon browsing KZbin here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGGyeXRnpbeXd9U

Stima totale!

The first band i found from japan like 20 years ago was balzac (an horror punk band, very misfits like), after that i found loudness and show ya. I became a huge show ya fan, which made me learn japanese, ending visiting the country and traveling across the country just visiting places i found in songs like sakurajima, ehime or aomori. Learning japanese is one of the best decisions of my life, it didnt make me richer, but the places i have been, the bands that i found, the lives ive attended, the friends ive made over there and it all started after listening to a japanese horror punk band. From what i have seen in the last couple of years, the punk scene is also getting big in china and korea! Even better than in america, since over there is big but still well kept underground and raw. You really need to learn the language to get any good info about the scene, that sucks, but well, i did japanese and not doing another. Every country has a local punk scene, even some african countries, i can even bet someone in north korea is a punk fan.

Unwatchable without subtitles, and the auto-generated ones are gibberish...
@orewapunk7891 Жыл бұрын
Hey paul! As you say, this is not meant to be seen without subtitles, both because it is in multiple languages and because the recording quality leaves a lot to be desired (I did the best I could at the time). The auto-generated subs are gibberish, but all the other ones were done by hand (at best of our abilities). Hope you were able to watch the episode!
