I'm 42, been shooting since 6 or 7. I used to love watching my Dad clean our guns after a day shooting. He would never use anything other than Hoppes 9. So naturally that's what I used as an adult all the up to 2 maybe 3 years ago. A friend gave me a little 1oz bottle of Slip2000. Wow, does that stuff work well. Unbelievable how well it works. Needless to say it's all I ever use now. A couple things I've noticed (my opinion of course) ; I could never see a need to buy anything other than the basic Slip2000 personally. Maybe if you rented guns or were a super high volume shooter yourself you might need the EWL. Lastly, they make a little towellette sized wipe treated with Slip2000. These work fantastic for wiping down your guns real quick if you don't want or can't clean your guns after a day shooting.

I've never used the wipes, but I picked some up at their booth to test out. I see them being extremely convenient. I also got some of their Carbon Killer that I'll be testing on AR and AK Bolts and Carriers to see how well they remove the carbon.

OreGear I also carry a wipe as part of my EDC. It comes in handy should you say drop your carry gun onto the floor of your dirty old pick up truck (or so I've been told).

For the past 4 years I’ve cheated on Slip2000 a few times with things like 🐸 lube and 🔥 clean ...but ALWAYS came crawling back to Slip2000 :) nothing touches my weapons but this stuff. I live in the Northwest where the cold would seized the frog and 🔥 causing issues.

I've gone back and forth between EWL and #2 wheel bearing grease. Every time I put on the EWL it seems to dry up before I even get to the range (not the same day - maybe a couple of days between application and it being dry), unless I put on a bunch in which case it runs all over the place. Does this stuff absorb into the metal or do I need to keep re-applying?

What's in Slip2000 EWL? What kind of additives?

Honest opinion, which product is better? Slip 2000 or strike industries anti-venom?

That's a tough question. It depends on if you want an all in one or a dedicated lubricant. Slip2000 is great, but you have to use a cleaner first to get all the gunk out and then you apply Slip. With Anti Venom, You clean it with the Anti Venom and then you usually don't need to add anything else because it's well enough lubricated from the cleaning.

We are about find out WINTER IS COMING last year I ran Lucas and it froze up In my gun waterfowl hunting causing malfunctions. I will be running slip 2000 EWL and reporting what I find.

Is this supposed to impress me? Keep it wet and it still runs? Shocking! I've run race engines with with worn valve guides, damaged lash pads and blown piston rings with Walmart SuperTech. Doesn't make it good just because I keep adding clean quarts to the sludge in the pan. Froglube for life! Except when it's ALG 0000!

Yeah I was going to leave this one alone since I'm sure you'll eventually have some Froglube, WeaponShield, or (insert gun lube) subject matter experts show up. They'll be more entertaining than me.
