Oregon Birding for Beginners

During the COVID-19 pandemic, going outside to enjoy nature and the fresh air has felt more essential than ever. Now may just be the perfect time to take up the meditative, educational and inclusive hobby known as birding - an easy social-distancing activity year-round, including the fall and winter months. “[Birding] is for everybody,” says Gregory Smith, a field biologist and former Audubon member who now leads birding trips for the Portland nonprofit Wild Diversity. “It’s really easy to get into because birds are absolutely everywhere.”

Sorry to ask, but do you have any specific tips for seeing bald eagles? We just spent a week in Seattle, leaving for Portland tomorrow. We're there for one week and then head back home to Europe, and I really realy really want to see a bald eagle before I leave :-D. Would Sauvie Island be good for that? Thanks again!!!!
