3:49 INSANE block destruction by Jalen Carter. Collapsing the Right Tackle with brute force and leaping to tackle the ball carrier. The run went for a first down, but damn what a play

Georgia defense gang tackles. Oregon's defense gets out of the way when someone is wrapped up. That needs to change

Oregon’s offense was pretty awful as a whole, but the center, #78 Forsyth, was excellent. Other than this bad rep @ 10:30, he was really clean, especially in pass pro, including when facing the absolute monster that is Jalen Carter. The first thing is, I love the size and strength. I know a lot of teams like that smaller, quicker pivot man - someone like Linderbaum being the prototype there - but me personally, at the center position, I just want a guy who’s athletic enough to do all the movement stuff - whether it’s outside zone or pulling on gap scheme stuff, as well as having quick enough feet to handle twitchier 3 techs in pass pro - but who’s really got the ability to move people off the line of scrimmage. Forsyth has that. There’s pop in his punch and he has exceptional grip strength. But he’s also got that functional core strength that is so key to remaining balanced and being able to sustain blocks against powerful guys. Is he the athlete that say, an Oluwatimi, or even a Wypler is? Probably not. But I think he moves well enough do be able to do everything required in the pro game. He won’t wow you when he’s moving laterally but he can do it, and when asked to go more or less straight forward quickly to the second level he has no issues erasing guys like Dumas-Johnson. And then you have the intangibles like leadership and toughness, where he is, again, exceptional. I know he wasn’t able to stay out there for Ducks’ final drive against Washington, but if you watch that game, the fact that he was able to be out there as long as he was showed a ton of grit and character, as he was clearly not right. I think anyone slagging him for the level of competition - PAC 12 not having nearly as many high level interior d lineman - should turn on this game against that loaded Dawgs front. I really liked Fortner last year and Forsyth reminds me a bit of him.

After seeing everyone play week 1 it's clear uga is the best and deepest team in college. How you defend those tight ends when they're all on the field at the same time seems impossible.
@GeorgiaPride19782 жыл бұрын
Oregon did a good job blocking UGA’s defensive line. Didn’t give up any sacks, and Oregon had some big runs right up the middle. UGA has to fix that.
@unknownunknown92962 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. The likes of Florida, Auburn, SC and Tennessee is going to "eat" that up. This is just a Pac-10 team. You're right, we have to fix this quick!!!! I DEFINITELY see a difference in this year's defense.

Duck fan here and I agree with you. What is it? 6 Top-3 Classes in a row? The most 5 stars on roster in all of CFB if I’m not mistaken. Helluva a job by Kirby. As a Duck fan if Kirby Smart trusts Dan Lanning to be his DC and is sure of his success then Duck fans need to give him the time he needs and stop over reacting. Was talking to some fans and this might be the best team Oregon has played in program history. You can make an All-Star team outta the rest of our scheduled teams and they still wouldn’t but UGA.
@chewbaka14962 жыл бұрын
@@QuickSilva91 How do you think it would've gone had Kirby played the defending National Champs, Bama....his first game as a GA head coach? Probably the same as Dan Lanning and Oregon. I told Oregon fans the entire time leading to the game, that GA was going to easily win the game and cover the spread. Now...I'm going to tell you that I saw a lot of good things from this Oregon team. They were able to move the ball against GA quite a bit. As far as the miss tackles go, most were against GA's big tight ends. That's to be expected from any team. Don't listen to the talking heads. Most of the time, they have no clue what they're talking about. Even GA's DBs had trouble tackling Michigan and Bama's tight ends last year. What I saw though....were a lot of great one on one, open field tackles being made by Oregon's players when they weren't trying to tackle GA's tight ends. Especially that Gonzalez kid. He made an amazing open field tackle on GA's RB at around the 2-yard line. That tackle would have been missed by 90% of other defenders in college football. Oregon's tackling was better than most when they weren't trying to tackle the much bigger tight ends. Why do you think our tight ends are a mismatch nightmare for oposing defense all year last year....and will continue to be all year this year. Rest assured...this Oregon team will fight their way back up the rankings. To me, they look like they will be top 10 team in the nation by the end of the season.....and probably play for the PAC 12 Championship.

THROW PIX THROW PIX! I MEAN BO NIX! Why is he a starter seriously after all these years still makes freshman/sophomore mistakes constantly!
@chewbaka14962 жыл бұрын
Well, if you look at it from a logical standpoint. He is the most experienced QB and will more than likely perform the best at this point in time because he is already used to all the plays from the offensive coordinator who was with Auburn when Bo was a Freshman. The other QBs are not up to speed yet, and there's a very, very good chance that they would have done way worse. It's also the defending National Champs, "GA," that Bo Nix is playing against. Not only would most QBs have trouble against this GA team, but GA has played against Bo Nix so many times that they know him really well. GA also know Oregon's offensive and defensive coordinator well. This was to be expected. Bo Nix and Oregon will do really well against all other opponents not named GA or Bama.
