Took a few hours to check on an old spot.
Found some great color and good sizes, but I still need to clean and cut everything.
Enjoy!!

My kids and I go out all the time to find “rocks” when my kids were little and as they’ve grown they will find a rock and give me it “I found this and it makes me think of you. So I wanted you to have it.” Is my 9year olds favorite saying. We have found some recently and we live in the granite state on a lake that goes out in the winter and starts to come back now with all the melting but I don’t know how to tell what they are, we found these beautifully sparkly dark with rosey pink colors when my dad saw it he said it looks like rosé granite? Idk but we keep so many but idk how to identify some or even what is local to our area. My kids are 9&11 and they want to go rock hunting and also look for fossils but idk where or how to find fossils. that purple one with the yellowish tip looks really pretty! What a beautiful find! a lot of what we have found almost looks like it has maybe mica? Idk to me it looks like dark sparkly black diamonds throughout these rocks they look very porous they are odd but super beautiful. My 9yr old has special needs and when I see him next I’m going to show him your channel he will absolutely love it (he’s currently in the hospital but primarily lives with his dad two hours south of me.) so I am In the white mountains, do you know what is local to this area what we could search for or maybe a way for me to show you some of our pieces to help identify them. Idk even if they are nothing it would be nice to know the names of them & regardless we still love to go out, find and collect! My kids will love to see your finds! And this video alone is going to inspire them to keep collecting I wish we could do a drive around the states to find different kinds of beautiful pieces to add to our collections. It’s kinda funny my kids got me a jewelry box from an antique store for Christmas when I opened it up they were like mom! I’m like what I can’t keep my beautiful rocks in here? Haha. And they laughed I said someone comes to steal jewelry they going to open this up and laugh. No jewelry all rocks 🤣 anyways you got a new subscriber and I’m sure my kids will be subscribed too!

Awesome and thanks for the support! If you really want to ID the rocks you find, pick up one of the cheap scratch test kits. It will help you out big time ^^ If you have a FB/IG account, send me a PM and I can help you as well. I'm so happy to hear you make rockhounding a family event, that is the best!! Thanks again!!

Love that spot. Went camping there last year. Looks like you got out of there just in time. I figured it might still be under snow.

Well that was a wet, wild and stormy trip through an Oregon forest for a rock hunt. I wasn't aware that we even had sagenite here in Oregon. That's so cool. I can't wait to see the rocks cut and see what you found! How exciting!

Man, oh man, that was an awesome video!! Loved all the #ASMR frog sounds and the rain and the sound of the running water. Some extreme rockhounding in the elements there, lol, right on! It was totally worth it with all the killer finds. Was that Quest helping you record your video or does your phone track you as you are walking away? Either way, I really enjoyed the hike leading up to the rockhounding part of the video. You are really good at editing, Andrew. I learn a lot from your cool techniques in your videos. Your videos truly inspire me. There's not many channels I pull from, but I can't say enough how much your channel rocks, and it's awesome to see your channel getting all the recognition it deserves. Excellent finds, wasn't sure which was my favorite until the agate at the very end....yup, that was the one right there! Gorgeous reds and purplish hues and yellows. That one with the bluish lime green when you turned it over was sweet, too! Everytime I watch your videos I scheme in my mind to find the time to get back out there. Oregon is sooo beautiful. And was that actually moss hanging in the trees? Thanks for the amazing video, bro!

Sagenite is pretty cool stuff. I was blown away the first time I found some. As for the frogs, I was surprised that I didnt see them. They were super loud, but hidden. Thanks again Eva!!

Heh, about a year ago I found a cool looking agate in the agate desert and made a cab out of it - and it has some very fine, hair-like structures in it. I've been wondering since then what it might be that I can see inside there but after watching this video I realized it's probably sagenite.

I know I have been in that area before just dont remember the name. My grandfather was a huge rockhound. So was exposed to rocks young. Lol. Took Geology in college. Now getting back into it. I grew up in Portland and spent most of time in NW Oregon. But now I live near Hauser in Coos County so a totally different environment
