I’m a band nerd from way back. I played in the drum line back during The Suffering, so I never went to and marched in a bowl game. Ohio state has a massive advantage over us (the Oregon marching band) that is similar to the advantage Florida schools, for example, have over other schools: being close to talent. In the Midwest, there are so many summer drum corps, like the Bluecoats in Canton or Phantom Regiment and Cavaliers in Illinois and Madison Scouts in Wisconsin. Guess how many corps in Oregon? One. Oregon Crusaders are the equivalent of D2 Corps. There is a massive history of strong marching bands in the Midwest. Ohio State benefits from this. State of Oregon high school bands suffer from a lack of good bands to pull from. I live in Bend, we have 4 high schools, and the bands are ass.

Hi Spencer, question. What would your opinion be if I told you I think it would be very smart and beneficial for Oregon to go good on good with the offensive and defensive lines in the spring game this year? I know the norm is that they mix it all up, which is fine. I think with the turnover in the trenches, going good on good every chance they get may help to avoid the start of last year.

15:03 "The Ducks are not being built in the transfer portal" ???? Spencer, good info. How about the number of transfers from 2021 to 2023? What percentage of them are impact players and taking a starting spot from a high school recruit? That is what we are trying to determine in this discussion. Is Oregon developing players or are they depending upon developed players from the transfer portal? Can this Oregon staff develop their 4 and 5 star players to fill in the majority of their roster? Are they good developers? If 25% or less of their recruits convert over to impact players, don't they either have a developing issue or talent evaluation problem? They are either recruiting the wrong kids or not developing the right kids? I would say that so far they have been built from the transfer portal because of the transition between coaching staffs but that going forward, as the 2023 and 2024 kids begin to play more minutes we should see less of a dependence on the transfer portal.

Jabbar to me didn’t make wow plays but him & nikko Reed were stabilizers & that’s what a vet should be. Jahlil Florence will know what to do and has size so that’s one corner spot. Purdue safety looks like he can run & tackle so if he can know his coverage than that’s 2 spots. The other areas can be taken by talented sophomores or freshman if they’re ready. Boom we have a better secondary. I just don’t wanna see dbs looking small, slow & lost in coverage anymore.

Oregon pulled itself from nothing & wasn’t born a blue blood. That makes fans like usc mad who had LA, California talent, money, publicity, and success from the get go. They complain bc the third base they were born on is gone. It’s weird in college football how ppl hate underdogs challenging the elite tier programs. We’ve got a level playing field now so every season I wanna see Dan get after it and keep kicking the door bc it’ll break eventually so until then. 22:51 "The attendance and support for basketball is not at the same level as it is for football. It should be. It's not, but it should be, particularly when they're having a season like this." -Spencer When you say "should," you're stating that the consumer is wrong. The consumer is not wrong. Demand is exactly where it should be. The one-and-done culture that pervades elite college basketball programs makes the sport difficult to get into. When the athletes are not truly committed to the school, and they readily blast on out of the program at the soonest glimpse of a possibly greener pasture, there's nothing to grab onto as a fan. The connection between the team and the university pretty much stops at the uniforms.

Which team out there is the team to beat in 2025? I didn't think Oregon was the better team when they won the 1st game against OSU. Coaching was the difference. The 2nd time against OSU I was hoping Oregon wouldn't get beat too bad, let alone win it. Every team will have challenges in 2025, Oregon will have theirs. I’ve always been interested in how different tiers in CFB would be defined. I really don’t think the Ducks will have earned a right to join Blue Blood status with just one National Title. The program has been trying to break out of the third tier for decades now. Anyone who understands the journey knows they have not even joined the tier of close Blue Bloods. Top mid-range, I was really hoping that 2024 would be the year it would level up. It was not, they did not. Back to the drawing board and there are several programs more accomplished that have just as much of not more resources and expertise. I’d be worried if I were in Oregon Ducks football leadership and management. This was a big failure.

There is no such thing as a fringe Blue Bloods without a National Title. Nebraska is becoming a fringe Blue Blood because it has many titles yet is in clear decline. Participating in a National Title game does not make a team a Blue Blood. Oregon is high third tier in my opinion, others will disagree, fine. Second tier would be teams that have National Titles but in decline or haven’t been for a long long time. The four best programs without National Titles are Oregon Wisconsin Utah and ASU-Oregon Ranks well against them, but not significantly. What did Utah do to Oregon recently? USC is still a Blue Blood in good standing, better than Nebraska, but vulnerable. 2025 should have much better ATHLETES on the field. 2024 was a skills team. What we need are athletes to compete against the best athletes. Bo Nix was better than Dillon. Especially with his legs. No Bucky. No Troy. Harmon was the only real upgrade. The secondary got exposed for what it was - lack of athletic ability. Did you see any of those missed tackles? The linebackers were sub par. Where was our Caleb Downs? Didn't have one. I think 2025 is going to have growing pains, but when they click, you should see things that the 2024 team did not have. The playoff game vs Ohio St was a reality check. Except for Harmon, they had better players at every position. Agreed. If they continue to decide not to show up come playoff postseason they just won’t get it. These coaches are mental midgets

As long as Will Stein is employed as the OC the ducks will never win a natty. 🙄

@ and another lemming appears... what offensive coordinator sent two QB's to the last 2 Heisman shows and what offensive coordinator has led Oregon's offense into the top 3 and 25 while winning 24 out of 26 games in two years? You two are morons.

Look I told you guys that your hopes of winning a title under Dan Lanning is over. This SEC overrated guy was exposed by Ohio State and Washington State and Oregon State. You see Dan Lanning's problem is money, which he thinks can out talent everyone. Well guess what things don't say the same and like your schedule it's not full of hard games at home but on the road. Your coach has coached since he arrived in Eugene. What let's me know that he can't coach is by the way he buys players thinking it's going to get him over the top. How much more stars do you need???? You already have created a transfer portal out of Oregon and into free agency. You added more and more players than you can play. You inherited a winning roster from Mario, dude what do you think you need. You have Phil Knight and that's the problem that's getting you beat. You whether buy recruits and portal players and over spend for them than win with what you inherited. You just over paid for and offensive line men that we thought you already had from the top recruiting classes that you've had. I mean Oregon fans, you better start checking your coach. This isn't the SEC, where you get to play yourselves and play in neutral sites and pick pancakes all true your schedule. We over here and elsewhere didn't have that luxury as the SEC has had. The rest of college football has had to play a real schedule but Dan Lanning comes to the B10 from the water down schedules of the SEC. Dan your playing in a conference that's full of dogs and that Florida and Georgia and Texas and Louisiana neutral sites are long gone. You see the SEC can't play away from the SEC, they get home sick, really, really quick. Dan your wasting talent and more talent and it's on its way into the portal. You've created a dam portal right out of Eugene. People tell Dan he needs to start using all of that brought talent over the last 3 years!!!! Dan we see you and who you really are, it seems you can't coach without money but your even losing at that!!!! I hate to say it but you're run his over and you've been exposed.

Zero starters have transfer out with Dan also Dan has put 15 ducks with probably 7-10 more this draft

Oh wait you are a usc fan makes sense you are this mad also you write like 3-5 paragraph essays on every post😂😂 plus Oregon played 4 playoff teams

@marzfn3430 half of these players or more belong to Mario. Dan has done nothing but live off him being a SEC guy and Mario's good fortune's!!!! Bottom line

I feel like in 2026 we may be the most talented team in the country.
