Do the cut areas shown here get replanted? If so, does every species get replanted or just the more valuable or fast growing)? Or is it left up to mother nature?
@Local_Logger4 жыл бұрын
It is all up to the land owner. Likely will be replanted as these we are logging now we’re planted. I am not sure species specific.

Nice logging side. Can't figure out why the yarded was having that hard of a time holding up the skyline . Yeah, it's somewhat of a heavy turn, but not that much weight. If you want to see what I am talking about and have a little time, look up the video, camp grisdale, by Jeremy Cleveland, , and you will see heavy. With almost 2 miles of mainline out and heavy turns, check it out.

Where in Oregon was this video taken and that last turn yarder engineer was probably hanging on for dear life and how far out was the main line
@Local_Logger7 ай бұрын
Molalla Oregon, we were out 3,500-4,000ft. Them Skagits don’t let you feel much unless you’re breaking things, even then when we tie it down she isnt going anywhere.
@shawnmoore2887 ай бұрын
@j_meeks_ I have been on harder I have been on yarders during turns that were over a mile out on the main line and the yarder was still moving around and they were hauling back bigger sticks then what they were three logs to a turn was all they could pull on steeper ground then they are on
@Local_Logger7 ай бұрын
Oh yeah definitely going to be shaking some from it all, but nothing crazy. Check out some of my older footage I’ve got some videos of us logging a few years back in Stevenson under this yarder with a Mark 2 Boman, with some 2-3 Log turns! Thanks for commenting love hearing from other loggers!
