I love Tuba. In the 1950s tuba got me a scholarship to a High School that didn't even have music scholarships. Thank you Maestro Mathew Longefosse for switching me from trumpet to Sousaphone.

The above instrument is indeed a tuba, just in a different wrap. It looks like an old king that had been unsoldered and assembled into this bizzare configuration. The different styles of tuba include the standard tuba, sousaphone, helicon, and technically, the contrabass bugle, all varying from keys from Bb, c, Eb, and F.

Alex Paulsen lol. I collect brass instruments. The weirder the better, but they have to play decently well in a modern ensemble. There have been times I see an instrument and think “that’s cool. I want one” and I get one. I learn it and practice it, and I turn out fairly well. My latest buy was an alto sax. The one before it a double bell euphonium. And the one before it a bass trumpet... As for the orenophone, I picked up tuba a couple years ago (used a school horn), but there was not enough resistance for me to consistently “lock” in pitches in the upper register since I am used to euphonium, even when using my euphonium mouthpiece. This instrument might have that extra resistance due to all the sharp turns in the small bore section. Plus it would be easier to hold. I want it. :) Next on the list are flugelhorn, ophicleide, and cimbasso. But you have such little confidence in yourself that you have to assume everyone is crap to make yourself feel better. Mommy’s basement is not all that bad, is it? ;)

He's probably just flourishing with the triplets; a lot of musicians do that with their music. I have yet to find a recording of Joe Alessi soloing where he only plays what's written on the page.
