It looks like it works based off of light. The "platter" has five light-sensors on it, and the "read head" is an LED. A new cookie completely covers up the sensors, and when they don't receive any light, it will play the first song. Then, as you take bites, more parts of the cookie will be missing, and thus, more sensors are able to detect the light coming off of the "read head." Ultimately, if all five sensors see light, the music won't play. EDIT: There may even be a 6th sensor right in the middle, now that I watch it again.

Oooooh i just assumed that it detects if the light is blocked then it would play a music or not. Then how it changes the song was by sensing the weight of the cookie.

This is how it works: The LED light on the arm shines light towards the 6 light sensors distributed evenly on the circular rotating plate. A full oreo would block all the 6 light sensors which signals song #1 to be played. A quarter eaten oreo would block only 4 lights thus cueing songs #2 to be played. And so on so forth.
