Brilliant session! A rarity with the ORF. Besides being insightful; it was also a very easy listen, interspersed with several lighter moments. And for that, I'd lay the credit at the feet of Nandan Unnikrishnan. Have always loved listening to him on matters Russian. This session shows that he is a fantastic moderator too! Would love to see Nandan more often; provoking thoughtful discussions and keeping it easy and simple at the same time! Great going Nandan ji!!

My View point: Russia's alliance with North Korea, Vietnam signifies Russian motive of balancing China in Asia mostly in Indo-Pacific and its focus on national interest rather than any motive of opposing USA. Its opposition to USA is in Eurasia Region.

Russia can't dishearten China now by calling it Indo- Pacific. - This discussion reflects on what India-Africa or India-GCC discussions miss or have to address via implemention. - Russia is not there in table talk or in paler documents but it can write its own rules. That's what capacity means. Global South is missing this Russia like will to work on the ground. China is just busy in BRI and some votes here at times. But its upon us to create our setup institutionalised to engage. We fail to work even with US or Russia bcoz of low capacity. - US has made its share of Gandhi- King scholarship and innovation fund..but I dia is still hesitant to do it and it has kept things in limbo. Many more such projects are there like tejas jet, Vande trains cancelled to France, Chinese Trade ban propaganda by India while facing significant losses. - Naming the global order, voicing the global south, Asking for Reforms...are just Words to the Other side which enjoys MONOPOLY. - An alternative system, starting with Finance and agriculture surplus to feed GCC and Indian growing population by next decade is the key towards DUOPOLY. - The West, or WTO will only be intimidated when there is a system which might be subscribed by all instead if just their system. - Agriculture in African lands will engage cheap labour and human resource for accounting & trading at commodities exchange. - We need a BRICS parliament as Putin pointed out, a WTO alternative system built in Africa, and along with mineral rich collaterals, we will have a Bank that can act as Swift system. Later this bank will have the potential to be one IMF like institution.
