I have a project coming up with a similar balloon wall and started paying for the balloon grids which will cost me quite a bit now I realize I can do it without them and I can actually make some money now. Ya. Grids are out of vogue. Insanely expensive dual sizers too since there's no 'one way' or 'right way' to do organic design. I've seen dozens of approaches (some great, some brilliant - but the results look stunning). Plus you can fill up massive spaces without requiring helium and just have them flow over an establishment like 'balloon-lava' - climb walls and the ceiling, you name it. It puts square-pack classical installations to shame - which were the standard for nearly 40 years.

Curious why the linear link-o-loon method for the top section and the x-frame for the bottom. Why the difference?

It's all the same. The top section was filled in prior to rigging it and we did the bottom section after.

no you need to use "link a loop"type of balloon they are double ended.
