Wow. Huge house. Lots of space, that are all well- lighted. The green house is impressive. The bath tub is outstanding. The owner of this house must have live like a count or countess except that the house need to update the designs.

OMG! There IS a heaven! I would put a trailer with a nice deck in front up on the "back 12" and sit out there at night and listen to the crickets and look at the stars. That's paradise for me. I would lease the land and let somebody else who is organic too work tit and just keep the hot houses for myself and bake some baguettes and slice those tomatoes thick and cover them with basil and maybe cover that with some good swiss cheese, then put it in the oven and melt the cheese and . . .maaan, I gotta go eat !!! =)

If it were mine, I would plant a ton of trees on that land. I would also swap the wood stove for a coal stove and put a coal burning insert in the fireplace and buy one ton of bagged anthracite and one ton of bagged Pocahontas coal maybe per year. Pocahontas coal is a very high heat value coal which burns without smoke. Anthracite is the same way. Coal fires do not cause creosote build up in chimneys (or, they cause minimal buildup). Coal also has four times the heating value of wood.

In chemistry terms, anything which contains carbon is organic. People who owned that property didn't use chemical fertilizer? That would mean they didn't use fertilizer at all since everything is chemicals.

Robert Johnson - good question --- they moved to Hawaii to do the same thing. They had done this in Vermont first, then moved here, then to Hawaii. Good thing is they are training new people to replicate the same process --- with interns too - so the word spreads quicker. More good news, the new people love it and are keeping up the organic and food production tradition.
