Dear sir, Thank you for your kind query. As the geological conditions changes the soil structure also gets change as per our different living locations. If our area soil is porous than we should not need to add any thing additional. Because this soil is best for growing any plant. But if our soil have lots of clay than we need to add something that makes it properly like porous soil. And sand and Coco peat help us to make our soil porous. Additionally Coco peat reduce the weight of potting mix for roof Gardening. I hope this information will help you. Thank you
