I suggest you leave the tool for cutting seatbelt and breaking glass in your console. In the event of an accident the driver cannot reach the glove compartment. My daughter works as a 911 operator and gave the family one of these tools. Will you consider add the labels to your shop please? Great organizing suggestions and advice about not leaving items in your car especially your purse.

I keep my multi tool for breaking glass etc in my door pocket as if you are pinned in by your seatbelt etc you need to be able to reach it easily. I just popped some Velcro on the back to stop it rattling while I drive.

Unfortunately, in Arizona vehicles get so hot we can't store anything in them. I carry what I call my "Grandma Bag". It contains a mini first aid kit, mini sewing kit, baby wipes, sanitizer, emergency whistle, flashlight, eyeglass repair kit, sunscreen, water bottle, snacks, etc...

Congrats on the new vehicle snd another great video, Sophie. One of the best reasons to keep a vehicle clutter free is to realize that should your car stop quickly because you've been involved in an accident, or slammed on the brakes to avoid one, everything not secured can potentially become a flying projectile. Even a box of facial tissue can cause personal damage if it's flying towards someone at 50+ mph. Also, I agree with the commenter who suggested you keep the emergency tool in the console where it can be easily reached.

We keep a large basket in the backseat as a trash container, along with a box of Kleenex. we have a cooler type thing in the back that we only use in warm/hot weather to put frozen or cold foods when going to the market. In winter, we have a small shovel along with snow brush and scraper for windshield. Also in winter, spare pair of gloves and warm hat and scarf. Also kitty litter for traction in case you get stuck.

Great video! One thing I always keep in my car is a pair of black flats, in case I'm in heels and have to walk somewhere if my car broke down. I did recently have to use these...I got to church and realized I forgot to take off my fuzzy slippers!😂 So luckily I had those flats in my car!

As a former Police Department employee you would not believe the things people leave in their cars. Any type of purse, backpack, luggage or laptop type bag makes your car a prime target. for a break-in. Thieves also like seeing money or wallets in plain view. People will also often store spare keys and vehicle titles in their vehicles as well. Prime locations for theft- walking trails, the zoo, the movie theater and hotels.

I like that idea of using photo organizers in the car. I can think of many uses. I suggest that you keep essential emergency car tools and kit because even if your car is new, you will never know if you get into an accident, flat tire, stranded etc. I try to keep my car minimalist but i must keep my jumper cables, extra gallon on water for my car, my car jack, a portable jump starter, funnels, extra paper towels, emergency reflection lights and my survivor kit that has drinking water, granola bars, heating blanket, microfiber cloths, first aid kit, face masks, hand sanitizer, toilet paper roll, extra diapers for my son and extra pair of shoes in the back trunk with my son's stroller, tool box and reusable grocery bags. In my front glove compartment, I have my cars manual with my car insurance info, tissue, napkins, utensils and a solar flashlight that has a USB phone charger, window and seat belt breaker. In the middle console i have a cosmetic bag with my mini body sprays and lotions, hair ties, dental floss, tampons, pads, etc. Also, an emergency tool to break the window and cut the seat belt, pepper spray, extra pens, note pad, calculator. I also have a mini car trashcan in my cup holder. On the back i have backseat organizer on both seats for toys, books, tablet, I have an umbrella if it rains, squeegee and car vacuum because I don't eat in my car and I like my car clean so I also have my car duster that i use while I'm waiting for the light to turn green 💚.

I always keep a blanket, a snow brush & scraper, a fleece jacket, hand wipes, when’s it’s cold a change of shoes, and napkins. It’s funny living in GA and pulling out the snow brush but it has come in handy. 😂

I agree with Johanna but I would also add water bottles and some kind of adult and baby snacks. You never know when there may be a blizzard and you are stuck in your car.

I am admittedly very neurotic and have a lot in my trunk. A silver Caboodles box with my first aid stuff, stick cortisone, sunscreen, etc. Easy to take in and out of the car. Then I have a mid-size basket with jacks to restart the car, extra cords, and a bag with emergency vests in case the car breaks down at night. What I'm struggling to keep organized are reusable shopping bags, especially the insulated ones because they're so big and hard to fold. If anyone has any tips, I'd love to learn them.

is there a benefit to storing all of that stuff in the car vs in your purse ? if you're inside somewhere you would have your purse with you and if its in your car you have to "go back out to your car"

Here’s a thought with that tool in the glove box if you get in an accident how are you going to get it? It should be in the door of your car if you have a pocket there .

I am the same way. I keep minimum items in my car and NEVER leave trash or valuables in it. If I lived in a rural area I'd probably keep more in it.

Do you keep any car emergency tools? e.g. pressure gauge, crow bar, jack? Looks like your car is new so perhaps you don’t think it’s necessary…
