Comic boards are not expensive. You get 100 boards for about $15. Amazon! They are about 7x10" perfect. I also got 359 plastic alligator clips to hold the fabric on. I used over 200 and just bought my 3rd comic boards pkg. They are thin neat and clean. I just finished organizing my beautiful fabric. 👍 It does help to keep things organized bcz I bout the same fabric two different times. Luckily they were not big pieces. Also bought clear sterilite plastic boxes to store projects and future project to keep me from forgetting what I want to do next. Huge difference. You would not believe how much fabric I got into a relatively small space. 👍

Hi. Sherry D again. You have been talking about having fabric/supplies in multiple places. I have 2 table machines on my large kitchen table. One of them is my Brother sewing/embroidery machine (LOVE LOVE LOVE) then I have a large 10 needle embroidery machine in my office (size of small bedroom without closet) some of my material is in drawers in my office, some is in a china hutch in my dinning room some material is on dining room table or any where else I might Leave it. Now I have a longarm with a 12' table it is wall to wall. need to move it. I really need to become organized so I am taking over the largest bedroom and making it my sewing/quilting room. I will be using your methods to display my material that looks nice and is organized. I will send you some pics of my areas and my new room after we finish putting the new room together. Love ya.

Another great idea, just not free is buying comic book boards from Amazon. They are acid free and you can get them from Amazon for around 11 bucks per 100 or get 200 for 19.75 , so around 11 cents a piece you get a great board to use that is 6/10 inches a perfect and consistent size.. No fear of bugs and they are great to wrap your fabric. While you are there, You can buy a set of bookshelves ( Set of 2 for 66 bucks) and stack them like they were books. Not free but pretty cheap.

the boxes, if your fabric is on there long enough, will stain, burn your fabric. The box is not acid free. BUT I have found acid free paper at Michaels. I would wrap the cut box piece with this acid free paper before you wrap your fabric. Your fabric should be safe after that.

Hey Lorena. You saved me a couple of years ago when I found your tutorial on binding. I still use that today!! To me its the easiest and quickest way to bind my quilts. On this topic. I use the foam board from the dollar store. If I cut for my one yard fabric I cut the foam board 6 1/2 x10. I get 9 boards. Previously, I had all my fabric in plastic bins. Never again. Even though I had color organized I was still always rummaging through. Also some of my fabrics smell. UGH! The boards from Amazon are the comic book boards. You get 100 for 12 and change. Since being able to move to a much larger room, I purchased a 12 block cubical bookcase from Amazon. I can't wait to get it. I am in the process now of organizing all my fabric. With it all laid out, OMGosh, I have a lot of fabric!! LOL Thank you Lorena, love your humor and your tips! And...I'm also attracted to the aqua, Hahahaha I have 9 aquas!!

I use the fabric to use as lining for the inside of bags. You can make a rain jacket with the fabric. You can also make a water proof bag with the fabric. I is fabric that has a plastic heat pressed into it but it sew like regular fabric. The reason I have it to make for makeup bags that if the make up broke I could clean the inside of the bag.
