It may sound crazy but planning vertically instead of horizontal has changed my life. I knew planning was for me but I bought horizontal planners and they didn’t work for me and I was a hot mess. Once I realized I prefer vertical; it was a game changer.
@annoyingbookworm3 жыл бұрын
For me, it was the opposite! I’ve been using my horizontal planner semi-consistently for months, whereas vertical planners got abandoned within a week.
@beckiehubley57983 жыл бұрын
@@annoyingbookworm yes! I use a dashboard planner now. A little more daily space would be nice, but I need the dashboard. And I bought daily sheets from an etsy shop that I use for busy days.

@@annoyingbookworm I can't even work out how to start with a vertical! Horizontal all the way for me.
@VooDooSue3 жыл бұрын
Isn't that interesting? I'm the exact opposite and struggled with a vertical planner and found peace in a horizontal layout. Show that we each have a style. 😁
@andreaplummer38413 жыл бұрын
I really wish MAMBI offered a sample pack of undated layouts for this reason. So that new planners could try them all out and see which works for them. Would save so much frustration.

Love your channel and I always find inspiration and motivation with your videos. Just wanted to share... Planning as You Go is something I do with Frixion pens. I write down the task or idea on the specific day and I don't worry about having to edit because you can erase the note and transfer the task with the Frixion pen when you get more detailed with planning. These pens are an organizational life saver for me, just don't store them in a hot place and don't leave your planner under direct sunlight coz the ink disappears with the heat. 😁

I'm in a stage where I am switching planner layouts. I tried multiple spreads, like yours, but it didn't work for me. I still want to have all aspects of my life in one page/spread. I like the idea of a wellness planner/tracker. I might incorporate that this September. Thank you for this instructional video. Make more, I love them! God bless.

I have tried every type of planner situation under the sun and realized that the plain old tiny 2 year monthly calendar planner is all that I’ll actually use. I only put appointments in there and bills and then check them off when they are paid. Beyond that, I can’t focus long enough to do more. I have really bad ADHD. I love how organized you are. It’s amazing to me. I also have a nice Moleskine notebook that I keep in my backpack and it’s literally a dump of anything and everything that I want to write down. There is no organization.

One point you made me think of on your third tip was, starting to write symptoms or discomfort I maybe having to keep records for my doctors. Me too - I don't decorate as my brain finds colour distracting (can't even cope with colour coding!) so mine is just whatever pen comes to hand. I don't really 'future-plan' either, just jot things down as I go along. My planner is a tool not an art project, and whatever works for you is just fine.

@@JT1358 I'm glad you're doing what is best for you and your brain! I do enjoy decorating and color and flair, I just have shifted my focus to be more functional. I found that if I didn't decorate. I didn't use it as much. That's cool that you plan on the go too! I try a mix of both

Hi there, I am new here, just found you and subscribed to your channel ! You are very inspiring ! I am trying to get my life together with organizing my life through planner but I get so overwhelmed ! I don’t even know how to start. I have only one planner and now that I see you, having multiple ones I wonder if I should start like that I am novice with planning and get quickly overwhelmed with all the different stuff I need to do in my daily life !! I try to feature my social media work, wellness journey, daily housework, kids activities, personal life & appointments into one calendar and I can’t make it work.. I got overwhelmed (again) and I barely do all the things I need to do.. Please help ! What would you recommend for a novice like me ? Should I start doing like you multiple planners ? Can you recommend me the videos I should watch from you to have a better clarity on how I should organize my day to day life as a beginner .. Many thx 🙏🏻 I hope you will see that comment and would be able to help me out 🙏🏻 x Baya

#1 = "OMG, using a planner for what it was intended for??!! actual planning as you go???" Yeah, the whole decorating your planner thing was a scrapbooker-got-a-hold-of-an-Erin-Condren-planner-back-in-the-day-and-went-nuts sort of thing that this Day-Timer Gal could never grasp...my planner is my planner, my diary is my diary, and my scrapbook is my scrapbook. I keep them distinct. I don't save planners. I don't want notes about grocery stores mixed in with precious memories...go figger...lol
