I dream of having a little studio separated from the classical home staff, but on the other side, having everything close and at hand is super practical. I tend to buy food props from flea markets because they are vintage and unique but some of them do not arrive in front of the camera because simply don't fit the scene. Sometimes you need to do the other way around: put those props that you love but never used on the table and try to make/imagine the scene. If it doesn't work, maybe they should be placed in the donation box :).

It can be so hard to remember what you have when you store props out of sight. I've just started to photograph my props in order to catalogue them, but organisation is not in my nature, so I am forcing myself to do this! It's lovely to see how others cope with the prop fiasco we all must face. ;-)
