We came to the State in '71, so I remember these colors really well. Yellow wallpaper with lots of flowers, gold couch covered in plastic, cream, brown & gold shag carpeting...ohhhh yuck! But I loved the fashions...color blocking from YSL & Stephen Burrows & Twiggy wearing it like no one else. But we can't forget Largerfeld & his glasses, Perry Ellis, Mary McFadden and Brook Shields & her Calvins! And then there was hanging out at Studio cause one of my friend's dad was a silent partner. Oh, the good old days! This box definitely reflects that time period well! I'm looking forward to design a bunch of fun pieces with these funky beads as I listen to Wild Cherry on KZbin! I even have my own song by Tony Burrows...Melanie Makes Me Smile!!!

Wow! This box! As soon as you pulled out the chain, reminds me of the same design as the cords that wrap around the curtains to hold them open. The yellow and orange beads scream the big flowered cushions on the wooden couch. The wood etched metal beads represent that wooden couch. My parents had a harvest gold fridge and stove and the kitchen cabinets were painted bright orange. It's been a long time since those memories were brought up front and center. Ah the 70's

Yes! it's definitely like a curtain cord. My Grandma has some fancy blown-glass lamps that hung from a ceiling hook and the cord for the lamp was woven in between the links of a large gold chain, too. The lamp was a bright reddish orange.

It was a gift, maybe 10 years ago? So, I don't know where it came from, but it's so useful when I'm showing off beads & need a light/neutral background so my camera picks up the colors correctly.

I don't care for bead mixes. It seems you end up with too many focal beads and too few of the other beads, spacers, and bead caps. I don't care for strung beads that are already designed, either. I prefer to do my own designing. I will write that you do a great job of matching beads from these mixes and strings.

Thank you Laurie! I also have some of the same issues with bead mixes, that's why I was so glad in this box there were lots of other kinds of beads we could add to the bead mix, and even a whole mis of just spacers! It's going to be so much easier to design a cohesive look. Thanks for watching!
