Always wash sheets before using them. They put something in them to make them stiff so they are easier to fold and package. I learned this over the years and yes, laundromat/laundry room dryers are terrible because they don’t empty the lint filters enough so you’re spending a ton to dry your clothes.

Anna, you should put your bed on risers and then get under the bed storage containers. You could swap out seasonal clothing or purses you don’t use as often. You could even hide your tree under the bed. You should utilize every inch of space possible and under the bed is perfect because you won’t see it.

Ohhh, I feel you on the cry sesh as soon as your family leaves!!! I live across the country from mine and the first week is SO difficult to come back to an empty apartment knowing they are just so far away and feeling like you should be closer because time is passing you by but also wanting to live your life and figure it out too. Sending a big virtual hug, I know how hard it is.❤❤

Plz don't throw your tree away...you can donate the tree to a family that does not have one. Just look up a local church that accepts donations. Or, if you have a FB grp nearby that has is about giving things away for free, that could also work. 👍🏻🌟😊

Anna, speaking as a mother, with 4 children around your age, I just KNOW that your father will want you to be living your best life in NY these years in your 20s, and absolutely so would your mother have. You have such a truly precious and honest and close relationship with your father, aunt and brother, that I know they will ALL want you to be right where you are now. And knowing that you CAN move back to Atlanta any time, is a really lovely secure-making thought. Definitely go and visit more often though, if you feel you want to, because I bet that will really help you! You are doing absolutely brilliantly. Love from me in Scotland. Things are really shaping up! Have you considered two tall bookshelves (with doors on the bottom half) flanking either side of the fireplace? It will give you so icy storage and frame the tv/fireplace so well. 😄

*Put the tree under your bed or couch. Do you have an outside storage or storage you can rent in the bldg? You can always get the flat container storages for under bed or couch n put clothes in it. If you dont have space under bed you should consider getting a bed with space underneath. Love the pink chair & couch!*

trim ur candle wick and it wont flame so high and the candle will last longer! also dont blow it out when ur done put the lid on it and it will also help the candle live longer ❤ u can trim the wick with regular scissors!

Just purge some clothes please, and get rid of the wardrobe it blocks the view when coming in. Get under bed storage bins, small cute bins for under the pink chair and add some coat hooks on the wall behind your entry door. Also maybe roll and stack more of the clothes in the closet cubbies

Anna your apartment is looking great. Just some advice about the mattress protector you put on your bed, maybe not a great idea to put it on wet as it may go mouldy and will probably leave a musty smell. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful father. 😊

Loving your pink chair in the corner - - it really brightens up that corner & does give a "cozy corner" feel, agreed. Great place to read a book or talk on the phone. : ) Also, loving the mantle... looks really cute with the candles. As far as your storage, you could buy one more of those wardrobes ( the tall white one ) & line them side by side there ( they would look a bit like built-ins ) & you could get one with lots of shelves inside to put more sweaters or whatever you need to in there. I did this in our basement & it looks really nice & holds a lot. Have a good nite... : )

Your dad is very proud of you! Have you thought about putting your bed the other way in your bedroom! Head board on the kitchen wall and put your white wardrobe on the wall your headboard is on now! Your probably could get another wardrobe to fit next to it, and have more storage. Also raise your bed up for more storage! Get all the same storage bins that will fit on top shelves of your closet to store your Christmas and other things up on the top shelves to make it look more uniform and maybe that would help you not feel overwhelmed. Put contact paper in top of your Alex drawers. I would also switch the Alex drawer to the wall and your vanity where the Alex drawers are. Just some ideas. Also under your bar in the kitchen is that a cabinet next to your bedroom use that for clothes storage!

5:20 aw don’t feel bad about living away from your family. look at it this way, if you were to move back home would you really be seeing your family that much more often? you’re so busy with work, social media, and traveling all the time! everyone is just a phone call or facetime away. you should live up your youth while you can and take advantage of all the opportunities you still have while you’re young. when you get married and have kids, you may end up moving back to the south anyway so just enjoy this time :)
