I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for producing these homeschooling videos. They're always very helpful and encouraging. I am homeschooling my first high schooler this year and I would really love to see more videos on homeschooling high school with the Charlotte Mason method.

I’m not sure I could survive without our three-tiered rolling cart! We bought ours at Michael’s, but Ikea sells them, too. And ikea makes such nifty hooks and organizers that can hang on the edge. So handy for pens, pencils, and other items we need to have at the ready!

Thank you again, Sonya for another great presentation. My home ed organisation is a bit of a blend of both your ideas. I, too, have a list showing our weekly schedule. I'm down to my last child this year. He is 10yo. I have two trolleys on wheels. In one I keep all our current readings, audio books, workbooks, binders etc. In the other trolley, I have all the other books which we will use in the year. This keeps all the books we require separate from the rest of the library, and we all know where they are. Like you, Sonya, each day we pull out the materials we need. For Nature Studies, I have a lovely little basket that sits by the front door ready to go with sketch pads, pencils, paints, bug catchers, magnifying glass, specimen bags etc (I will be adding band aids, though!! Great Idea :-) ) I LOVE organizing, and at times can go a little overboard....so yes! Simple is best!! I do love the idea of a binder with all the independent work in it. Great to'transport' if required, rather than taking a number of separate books.....Thank you once again ladies. Blessings to you, from Australia

We are in a temporary residence for a few months so we aren't able to set up our organization as well as I would like, but we are working mostly out of three baskets right now. One family basket with our history, science, literature, etc. materials, and one basket for each of my girls with their math, language arts, and geography materials inside. I'm excited to try out some of these ideas when we land in our permanent place! :)

I’m a binder person. I keep everything in binders. I keep our books in a wide magazine holder separated by subject. So each subject has a binder and magazine holder. I also have a separate binder for the schedule and that stays out all week and gets put away each Friday night. That keeps me organized and tidy. I would like to see a tutorial how to make a memory binder and nature tackle box.

I wish I was a binder person. For some reason, I have never liked them. But, we use them a lot because they are convenient. I would also like to see more about the memory binder and nature tackle box.

Our homeschool organization is not where I'd like it to be. Each one of the kids has a workbox where ALL of their workbooks go. Handwriting, copywork, history notebook, math books, etc. And I have a shelf dedicated to the teacher's manuals, read alouds, reference books, etc. And I have file crate where they put their finished work. This sounds organized....but it is usually a mess. I need to model for my children neatness so they can learn to keep their things neat.

We started last year with SCM. I am a single working mom and have been struggling with organizing our days and maintain a routine. Would like a bit more guidance as well would be great to see videos more on teenagers starting middle school to high school. I have noticed not enough information for teenagers. Thank you

It's very simple, as you can see in the video. There's just a tab each for memory verses, poems, and hymns.

I have a cart and it has 8 drawers and I put all things needed for day 1 in the top drawer and all the things they need for day 2 in the second drawer etc. i don’t go by day of the week. Just day 1, 2, 3 etc.. that way I finish day 1 on a monday and tuesday we did nothing then I go to day 2 if I label the day then it would mentally bother me because I would be doing tuesday on a wednesday or if more days go by it would me more confusing..

do you have a sample of your daily routine/schedule? I'm very new to Charlotte Mason and I find it difficult to add all the lessons, I feel it looks to be a lot in a day...can I have a sample of your to-do list etc.?

There's a sample schedule at the bottom of this page: simplycharlottemason.com/planning/curriculum-guide/ Also check out this video from a couple weeks ago about how to finish lessons by lunch. It includes sample schedules for a variety of situations. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJWYYX-NaLp6m5I
