I have used a system similar to this, and I put a piece of paper in each pocket folded up at the bottom then you can pull the paper up and with it comes all the scraps. Alot easier .

Show us everything!! & I must admit- I absolutely love your videos, your voice(but not in a creepy way or put me to sleep kind of way) , your style , your rings and nail polish, everything! I watch your videos everyday, literally everyday. Anytime I’m gluing something, the only thing that i can think is ‘glue it down ‘ and I mean every single time haha anyways my suggestion is anything and everything! Sending much love from West Virginia ❤

These kinds of organizing videos always attract my attention. I think the reason you've been successful with your storage methods is that you are very honest where sefl-knowledge of your habits is concerned. Still, the best part of your videos is always your stream-of-consciousness narration. You are so open and willing to try, which is the secret to your creativity. Very inspiring, both creatively and organizing-wise. Pet Banjo from me. ~ Lisa

Great ideas! I just organized my scraps and emphemra in January. I was using the same system as you did with plastic sleeves and they kept falling out as you said. The other thing that didn't work for me was they were not visible, which I personally need. I have limited space. What I came up with was using 3 tray-type baskets from the Dollar Tree. One for large scraps, one for med., and one for small scraps. They all stack on top of each other and are visible. I also used a small tin bucket from the DollarTree for extra sm. Scraps. The other idea I do now is use a round tray in which I dump my smaller scraps, emphemra, and stickers on if I need to see a more spread out view. Saves time with decorating decisions. This works great especially because they are already sorted by categories and are easy to put right back where they belong, saves on clean up time. Hopefully this helps someone. TFS!!!

Hi there, from Germany. Indeed storage space problem. The longer you make albums with all sorts of binding, also using large envelopes, decorated like journals but thus plenty storage space, the more scraps are left. 😮😅 Only way is not to keep every tiny bit of paper. I set myself a limit size, any smaller goes. I also need to see my stickers, papers etc. So I use cardboard boxes of adequate sizes, decorate them, and have my papers upright in there, with little markers for the motives. So I can flip through all and see each page. Fits in a shelve. For stickers and washi tapes I have smaller and larger stackable boxes that fit into drawers of my container underneath the desk. Each drawer can be nicely organised so you know where what is, since boxes are clear plastic. For fuzzy cuts I use my albums 😅 they have lots of pockets anyway I made some just for storage, book size. Scraps I store in pretty boxes of cookies, or x Mas gift boxes. I reuse almost anything suitable. Yet, I had to buy a closet with shelves😅 and doors! to keep my office tidy. Natasha's idea here is suitable, if you have drawers to store the folders I wouldn't want all stuff just lying around. Fun to everybody, keep being creative. Best thing to calm down, relax and do away with stress. ❤

A little tip for you, when you're doing several of these, rather than cutting each one off, after your back stitch, carry on with the next sleeve, these can then be cut off when youve finished. Great organisation by the way, and i never knew you could take the sleeves out of the cover, so thankyou for that. Your ideas are amazing xxx

If you loosely arrange your long narrow strips by length before inserting them in the plastic, it will be easier to see and choose one at a glance. The shorter ones won't be as hidden. I organize mine in a very similsr way and your video gave me great ideas to refine my collection. Love your channel!

Great system. You can also use binders for acrylic stamp sheets or stencils. However, I am finding them too slippery and hard to grasp and turn the pages. That may also be because I have nerve damage in my hands and wrists from typing for so many years. I’ve recently switched to using zippered pouches or envelopes that you could buy off Amazon. I’ve separated solids and patterned into large and medium envelopes for each. And the zippered pouch I have for the small scraps is huge obviously and I have both solids and patterns mixed. I have a lot of solids from the days that I scrap booked and used a lot of card stock. I never threw anything away. And that was almost 20 years ago.😂 I also keep a little pencil box next to my desk for the itty-bitty scraps that I use for embellishing index cards and playing cards. They’re easier to handle and I use them frequently and it prevents me from cutting up something new if I don’t have to. It’s also good for the little pieces of book page or music page that you need. so far it’s working. But needs and styles changed as you know. I love this video and I like the new ideas and it doesn’t inspire me to try something different.😊

Well done. Thinking out loud about your process is very helpful to many. I am in awe of your organization skills! I'm not sure if the folders would work for me because I need to SEE things or I forget about them. Flipping through the scraps jogs my memory and gives me ideas for another project. So I'll put those pieces on top. Labeling helps a lot, too. I have plastic drawers sitting in front of my workspace so all I have to do is look up. Wish I could post a photo. I would love to hear about what videos are next on your list. My ephemera is getting out of control! Kiss to Banjo.x

Great work! I love the way those folders open out flat. I sewed a hundred of these sleeves into pockets for my sewing patterns which looked a little worse for wear. I used a zigzag stitch and was amazed at how easily the sewing machine handled the plastic - no bunching or sticking or sliding about. I have also divided sleeves to store narrow stencils. I was able to put some double sided tape down the centre, although it was not at all fun! But it was in a book where I couldn't remove the pages for sewing so it was a good result, and the tape did not need to go all the way to the bottom of the sleeve. How rewarding is having your bits and pieces organized well!

Its interesting to me to see how people organise. There isn't one perfect system, it all comes down how you like to craft or do your art. Folders don't work for me because all the scraps become hidden. I need to see my scraps, so i have shallow trays/boxes which nest. They don't take up much space and i can see everything, i also use an old recipe box for medium size scraps, sorted by colour, because that's how i do my art, I'm very colour focused.

Hi! I enjoyed this very much. I had the idea that maybe you could cut a notch at the tops of the sleeves, to make the narrow cuts easier to "riffle" through. Literally, just a V shape, maybe even reenforced with packing tape at the edges, for stability. Or some corners could be cut off, shallowly. Shortening some of the pockets was a little piece of genius! And when I get this far in my organization process, I will definitely use my beloved Fuse tool. Your new system seems like it will work! 💐💐💐

In 2nd drawer I have all my cardstock sorted into colors. Very fast to clean work space of any cut off's and also easy to flip through the folders when looking for some kind of color or pattern. Works very good for me 👍

So glad to see I'm not the only one that struggles with what scrap papers to throw away. I am also the same way about not color coding, etc. I do like your idea with the scrap paper, I have saved this video. I am now going to start looking for those books in thrift stores so I can get a better system for my scrap papers. Right now I'm in the middle of turning photo albums into silicone stamps holders, cutting dies holders, and sticker books. I don't know why I didn't get the notification of your last video, but I'm going to watch that next to see if your way is any easier than the way I'm doing mine. I truly do enjoy watching your videos and getting inspiration on organization and journaling! Thank you ❤

I do use plastic sleeves, I need to try sewing them. I have to many scraps and it makes it bulky. Sewing compartments in, will alleviate some of the bulk. When I have to many, I remove half and donate them. It keeps it under control. I sort by Color and Type. I store them all in a bin right now, because the 3 ring binders are not big enough an they are constantly falling apart. I found that binding system, very interesting! I have never seen it before. ❤❤ it, keep sharing.

Great ideas! It really got me thinking about how i can organize my scraps better. I would love to see how you organize your washi tapes to where you can see what you have and can get to them easily without digging through them looking for what you want. Thanks for sharing 😊

I did exact same thing years ago, but it still drove me crazy. When I sealed the sections they were tighter to get into. Pockets started tearing and things still fell out. I’m still searching for a good system for scraps after 30 years of paper crafting lol

I have several very big harmonica maps. I don't know the size, but they are bigger than A4. I have organized them by color. Reparable when torn (paper). But i think some of these maps, devided in compartments would even make them better.

this absolutely inspired me to organize my little scraps, because i dont use them when theyre a total mess! you actually reminded me i had a sticker binder i never use because its too narrow, but it fits my paper scraps super well! i'd love to see how you keep your inks or stamp pads organized but still in reach!

So fun to watch you, Natasha, in the morning with my coffee☕! Inspires me for my day😊! I love this scrap organizer idea. I need a new system for my ephemera pieces. I am currently using top loading photo sleeves (2 to a page) in a 3 ring binder, but the ephemera slips out of the top at times😏. Thanks for your wonderful ideas. Hugs❤ and love to Banjo🐶

If you put large elastic bands from top to bottom over each page, it will hold the pockets tight on both sides of the sleeves, keeping pieces in 4 pockets at a time. It doesn't need to be tight, just taut enough to keep pressure on the openings. Hope that helps.

I picked a size out back when I first started with the paper and I refuse to save a scrap below that size. I also make a point of cutting my scraps into straight edges - I die cut a lot and I find the scraps store and use more easily if all edges are straight. It has really helped me use up and store mine better! TFS! I like this series.

You did a great job of organizing your scraps. I’m afraid if I did that, it would all be undone in a few days..lol. But it would be a better way to find what you are looking for. Thanks for sharing Natasha.😍

I made one very similar and put a piece of mail card stock in the smaller ones, so the items don't fall out. Also, I have not tried the scissor or knife method when cutting the inserts in half. Heat them, then cut in half and it will seal the bottom.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned or not. I recently organized my magazine fussy cut & pages I wanted to save. I used the full plastic sheets as you have. I also purchased the clear sleeves like that that are meant for baseball cards. With the small pockets, I can add things facing both directions in small amounts so it doesn’t get bulky. Good because I can see from both sides without having to dig through . Not so good if it falls or gets tipped things can fall out. The small bit fit fairly snug so it’s not too bad.

I really think your system makes great sense. I think I’m going to use it! If you cut the top inch or two off the pages that are a little too tight to look through the scraps easily and let the tops of them hang out a bit, it might make it easier to flip through them. Especially in the large scrap book.

Loving your storage pocket pages, and how you divided them. Perhaps you could use the "unusable" spaces for small scraps by slitting them horizontally across the page.
