Field groups are mostly for the Digimon trading card game. When you play your hand you can also play a "field card" to determin the terrain you'll be fighting on, and when you place enemies with the same field as your field card they'll gain an advantage during combat. There are also cards that will recieve a negative effect from certain fields. Sort of like using Sunshine or Rainstorm on pokemon.

likely can, a lot of digimon can evolve into and from other digimon, but they tend to have 1 true line (and a couple of other associated mons), which is what this video is highlighting! Skullmeramon evolves from meramon!

Very interesting to compare trolls/ogres from Scandinavian folklore with Oni from Japanese legend. Until now I always thought Ogremon's design was European.

Goburimon probably based on goblin, while Orgemon based on Ogre, Ogre is seen as the west equivalent of Oni, hence the design.

Clearly he's got a rivalry with skullgreymon. Really though, skullgreymon is so dangerous and fierce that he makes a great trophy (if you survive) Also, not too many skelemons exist. I suppose skullmammothmon could work but a nuke launching skeleton dino is more intimidating.

Enough with the retcons! Ogremon digivolves from Patamon and into Minotauromon! He can also digivolve from Kunemon and/or into Mummymon. Digitamamon only digivolves from Nanimon. Nice job contradicting yourself by showing the Fuugamon (moments earlier a goblimon) from Tamers!
