I love and hate this game equally. I love it in general, but despise these escape levels. At least this one is shorter than the water one which almost drove me to insanity.

died about 100 times at the tree escape, always at the 90% in this horu escape I perform "better" than the video, but I just kept dying on that side you gotta use the feather, missed to notice the wind/steam current...

Maybe you're computer got a lag so it was slower ;d I remember I played ori one year ago and it was horrible, I died so many times but this year with new computer I was prepared for water level so it was for me only once. But last year I didn't go that deep so now mount horu is driving me crazy...

0:48 That part with the water made me go insane EVERY TIME! The way Kuro ALMOST catches you made me scared to no end. I was glad the action slowed down a little in the water.

Yeah many I got stuck on the part where you need to glide upward with the feather. With all the chaotic stuff happening, it didn't really register that those drafts were something you could ride up. I probably died 20 times there before coming to see this video. Other than that, the escape was actually one of the easier ones but that part was not obvious (to me anyways).

Master Chain I found the water one the easiest but maybe that's only because I didn't even try to get those orbs. In this one I was a bit unhappy that sometimes being too fast would bite you. But yeah, overall I think I found the ice escape the one I cursed about the most. Random stuff was happening and then you were dead. The other two, you could at least train and succeed most of the time once you figured out what to do and when.

I had a hard time with that one. I think I grabbed a few of the orbs, but I probably died more times during that one than the other two combined. But I kinda suck at the game ;) I took me like 12 hours to beat it, although I did some backtracking to get items and stuff, but I think it takes most people like 8-10 hours.

Master Chain Steam says it took me 15 hours so there ;) I backtracked a lot though. IMHO the point of a metroidvania. Seems like different people struggle with different escapes. The water one took me by surprise but once I had accepted the fact that the difficulty curve of the game had just jumped up by some orders of magnitude, it didn't give me _too_ much trouble. Which is still to say I died _a lot_ ;) Can't believe there are people who play through this game without dying once. They have no life and my deepest respect ;)

Oh, great, after 40 minutes trying to finish this stage and turning off my TV so I wouldn't throw my controller against it, that video showed me that I died a couple times just a jump away from the end. I also love and hate this game equally.

Really didn't care for these Dragon's Lair style escape segments. Having half a second to figure out where you're going and what's just an artistic touch by the level designer is bad enough but having to go all the way back to the start every single time the instant-death mechanic catches up to you is just awful.

I want to love this game but this final escape sequence (all of them, really) is driving me mad. I looked up this walkthrough just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, and sure enough I'm not, but it just isn't executing for who knows what reason. It is giving me no height off of those final rocks. Like I'll do the jump, but then Ori won't go up, he just stalls out and falls and then I die. So aggravating.

Minor techs to help people going for speed: Hold down the jump button to swim faster (you don't need to spam-press it). You can release the slam button early to launch yourself faster. This can often make things a lot easier since you'll be flowing from leap to leap rather than awkwardly pausing in-between. You don't need to hold down any buttons to power-jump off a wall. Just press the corresponding movement key to automatically begin charging up the ability (pressing jump to release).

It aggravates me that you didn't shoot those piranhas and just let them hit you for whatever reason. Also that you keep holding your bash until it automatically releases. Just let go of the button dude! It's the same speed and distance either way!

the game its not easy, its just a frikin puzzle all the time, there were some puzzles that took me some time to resolve, but i could, and i didnt need videos, and well, there wer some times i get crazy... but this one... i failed at the end, well, i knew you have to do that, that jump at the end and then the rocks, but it was always on fire, so i always get burned.. the trick was being faster... thanks, i died there like 100 times. huh, i had just 6 cells all the game jajajaja, i died lot of times, luckyly i didnt get almost any damage, i lose 2 or 3 because the rocks at the end, its hard to evade them..
