First fell in love with song when I was 16. Here I am at 27 and this song means more to me now then it ever did. I was in a abusive relationship for 6yrs and looking back on it he treated me like someone he hated. Called me terrible things, controlled me, gaslighted me, forced sex on me even when I fought him, beat my spirit down, racked up 10k on my credit cards and secluded me from my loved ones so I felt like I had no one to turn to. 3 month after leaving him a reconnected with a great friend from college who I am now dating and couldn't be happier. He treats me so amazing and all of the things he loves about me are things my ex used to hate about me. He especially liked to attack is my intelligence (Though I had more schooling and better grades....) and my current boyfriend tells me all the time how smart and brilliant I am. So long story short this song means something so different to me now and means so much more to me now.

My grandmother introduced me to this band brings back memories she died a year ago. I play guitar she thought it was amazing how this girl played the guitar and now hearing it years later pop up in my notifications for the first time kind of a coincidence. Wished I could have had more time with her this song just gives me a whole new meaning. Knowing her she probably introduced her for her guitar but for a woman to woman who have battled with demons and choosing the wrong people In her life. It was like she wants me to do better than what she was able to do for herself. My grandmother died of early onset dementia and sepsis from a uti at just 70. She wasn't perfect made many mistakes in her life not the typical grandmother you see in decent families but I know she loved me. And I hope in her last moments she knew and felt that I loved her too. A grandmother who buys gifts and has it all together I'd trade gifts anyday to spend more time with her. She was poor never got too much from her but I can't blame her because of her circumstances in life and her choices that led her down a rabbit hole. If you have a loved one despite what anyone says please spend time with them. Family is all you got even if they aren't perfect forgiveness and understanding. Some things can be forgiven

Listening to my daughter's old iPod from when she was about 12, I came across this song and at first thought it was Avril Lavigne (who also kicks serious ass IMHO), but sorted out it wasn't her, did a search and found this chick Orianthi. Holy S*** this is good. Now I have another member of my kick-ass guitar-pounding fem-rocker pantheon. Got this old guy rocking along and I've thanked my 21-year-old girl for leaving this jewel for me to stumble across.

Her label wanted to promote her as an Avril Lavigne/Kelly Clarkson-clone,instead of a serious blues/rock artist. That didn´t worked,they dropped her.She joined Alice Cooper´s touring band and was too busy playing for him,instead of pursuing her solo career. Then she did the dumbest thing ever,she left Alice Cooper´s band and hooked up with Ex-Bon Jovi guitarist R.Sambora.She completely embarrassed herself in public with that drunk & coked up old fart,basically becoming his toygirl. They made an album together that literally nobody give 2 sh*ts about and a number of really cringey live gigs,where he was drunk/coked up his nostrils,gropping her on stage and what not. Then they broke up and she did nothing for the next 2 years. Now she ended with Frontiers Records,the italian label where all the washed up 80s rockstars are signed.

Small detail, but I really like how the last lyric is about “according to him”. That as much as you’re complimented and appreciated and as much as you appreciate that and want to write songs about it, the rude, spiteful, or abusive partners are always the ones that stick with you the most. These days It reminds me of my crappy ex boyfriend and how he used me and didn't care about me at all, I was just a toy he used to satisfy his selfish needs. He just couldn't except me.
