Oh my God, that Fairbrother celebration is my earliest football memory. Wasn't this on Match of the Day with Barry Davies commentating? I may have that wrong. I would have been 9 and watching in B&W! Distinctly recall watching with my late father though. Unless Fairbrother subsequently went on to make this his trademark celebration!

Those pitches! Sometimes you couldn't tell who was playing for who. It brings out such nostalgia in me, all that mud. Doesn't happen now, does it? Certainly not at top level.

I was at that game with my dad. We were standing at the north end behind the goal. Probably my happiest time as an ‘O’s’ supporter. Back to earth with a bump next round when we played Arsenal at Stamford Bridge (ironically) and got hammered. It’s not easy being an Orient supporter.

Happy days. I was there on the enclosure in front of the old stand. When it was packed like it was on that day, it was only suitable for tall people like me and my mate because the terrace steps were so low. We had to tell the shorter fans what was happening! Os fans never had many opportunities to boast when they returned to work on Monday but this was one of them. Our bog of a pitch was a great leveller back then.

Reason I am a Man City fan. I was 8 gutted Chelsea lost so switched to the team at the top of Division 1 and it was Colin Bell’s Manchester City. Went to my first game at a Maine Road in May 1972 we won 2-0 vs Derby and the rest they say is history.
