RIP Origa, you are missed. But the beautiful thing is you will never be forgotten. We will always have recordings like this to remind us what a wonderful person you were and how gorgeous your voice is.

Life has a way of being poetic. But poetry isn't always sweet. I still listen to this and can't believe this woman died before she was even 45 years old, of throat/vocal chord cancer. Such a powerful voice, a person who was killed by the very thing that also gave her life and meaning. At least we have almost two decades of her music we can still listen to and enjoy. But to think what an artist and a voice like this could have done with two more decades of making music that we lost too soon is still a tragic sadness. Sometimes, I think life wanted me to find her music and to also know how this woman died just so that I could learn to be grateful and find beauty where it exists. It isn't how long you live that matters. It's what you bring to the world when you're alive and leave behind for others to experience that truly matters. Any of us could die tomorrow. You. Me. Anyone you know could have their life end too soon. Instead of trying to live "longer," what are you doing today, right now, to make sure that when your uknowable time comes, you've left something beautiful for this world?

Correction: It was lung cancer. But this is also an integral part of any vocalist.

She is the reason why I fell in love with Ghost in the Shell anime,It was because of this gorgeous song! I had no idea who she was until now,but absolutely loved the intro and the ending sing for the anime! I looked her up,she was only 44 years old, cause of death was lung cancer. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 She will always be remembered and never forgotten, now and always. R.I.P Origa. Hope the live action movie will at least break even and isn't a financial flop like Dragon Ball Evolution or Avatar:The Last Air Bender that were live action and sucked majorly. Also hope they use a recording of her songs in the movie to honor or have a "In Memory of her" at the end of movie since she beautifully sung the intro song and ending song for the anime for so long. 😢

I keep coming back to this video. I've felt a strange connection to this song, though I don't understand the words; my grandparents emigrated from there to Canada in 1902. When I found out it was written 150 years ago, it sort of made sense. To really understand what Origa did here, listen to some other performances of the same song. She's amazing.

Her voice moves me to tears, she`s so angelic. I loved her vocals when she was singing at 3:05 it looked like she was whistling and reminded me of Mariah Carey but then I realized, ''This isn`t Mariah Carey! NO! This is way better, This is ORIGA!''... her style of clothing looks very nice and elegent. All in all, she`s beautiful!

@@Kayriel How is Russian terrible when spoken? Only people who are unfamiliar with it say things like that to sound like they're informed. Russian is precisely for casual conversation. It's the language of the heart. If you want to talk business, speak English.
