難しいのは一番最後なので15cm折り紙の場合は楊枝が必須だと思います。でもA4で出来ていればきっと大丈夫です😃

I am not a beginner, but I could not follow instruction at 4:20-4:27 for Origami and letter size!! At 4:20 my paper is 3 parts equal and other is little more, however yours top part without lines? I replayed video several times but no help, your advices are needed. Thanks. I made it by passing that section. No need to show that section?!

What size of paper did you use? If the paper size is A4, no need to cut. With US letter, cut longer part on the top (about 0.65") and with origami, the part is much longer. If it is confusing, just cut paper into 1 : 1.4 ratio, which is A4 ratio, before you start.

I want to share the paper measurements of this model: I did not have either size paper mentioned on your video so I tried my own measurement and it works wonderfully. A) Larger model completed triangle is 40.5mm can be made with 2 rectangles 280 x 190.3mm and the first fold 1/3 of the length is 80.5mm. B) Smaller model completed triangle is 30mm can be made with 2 rectangles 190.3 x 130.5mm and the first fold 1/3 of the length is 60.5mm😄😂🥰🤗. Thank you for your videos.

Sweet Paper - if you did not ask I always call it cm 1/10 of the meters!! My notes book are all with cm! I will change it now. I am in USA and inch is easier for us, but Origami lover must do everything for the hobby.

The paper is called "Cromático, -ca." 59kg which is translucent paper. I bought it from a paper shop Japan. I hope you will find it in your place.

With USA letter size, just follow the video until 4:20, then at 4:27 cut the paper on the top (about 0.65" longer). If you want to make a smaller ball, cut letter size paper into two 7.75" : 5.5" at the beginning . Or, any size of paper in 1 : 1.4 ratio can be used.

Sweet Paper - You are so kind to give me more instructions. I did not see your respond and went ahead cut up 190.5 x 130.5 cm and got the smaller model done! Your triangle is 40.5 cm mine is 30cm. I had stated Origami and playing Billiards after I retired in 2006. I am blessed being this age and still pretty good on these hobbies. All the best to you and yours.

4:21～4:32は正方形の折り紙で折った場合の説明です。A4やA5で折っている場合はカットする必要がないのでそのまま4:32から続けて下さい。

I want to make a few of these balls for my niece's birthday party favor container but I need a sturdier and larger paper. I tried translucent vellum/parchment - worked the first try but failed the subsequent attempts due to 'brittleness' character of the paper (all little creases showed) and because of thickness. The first that I was able to make didn't fit sharply and tightly either at the seams. I tried other type of papers too (Kraft paper, 2-sided/colored construction paper), and utilizing a Hera to create creases. Always failed at the end when I opened the last layer to cover the little 'fins' inside the dome - the paper proved too stiff at this last stage and either crumpled or tore when I tried to slip the open/last end under the first fold. The best kind of paper is just a simple, boring, bland, white or creamy, copy/printer paper. Can't find large origami paper (largest at Amazon is 9"x9"). I might try to cut wrapping paper to custom size. Any suggestion?

Edit: Vellum I used was only slightly thicker than regular printer paper but I think it's not the thickness but the paper's rigidity. Since Vellum was made of skin while regular paper was from pulp.

I recommend thick wrapping paper for a larger ball. I really like paper called "Gmund gold 75kg" which is about copy paper thickness, with very thin stripe lines shimmer very beautifully. I hope you can find it online or some paper shops. I also like translucent paper but as you wrote, such paper is usually brittle, as it doesn't have long fiber like pulp. I put transparent sticky tape on the back of creases and try to fold only once, since it will break if I repeat mountain and valley folds.

@@SweetPaper Thank you for responding. It's very hard to find such paper here in the US, esp. in my town. The only place I think I can find specialty paper is probably San Francisco or Los Angeles Japantown. I cannot even find the paper you mentioned online. I wonder if it's the same one I used to use for book covering way back when I was a child/pupil in another country in Asia. I came across the paper again later here in the US as wrapping paper called ribbed Kraft paper, but I can no longer find it. At Amazon it's sold by a UK company, in a bulk = expen$$$ive!!! I'm going to try this paper that is used to line foods or wrap sandwiches/burgers.

Sorry for late reply. The wrapping rolls on Amazon are not Gmund gold (when I found a shop you can buy it, I will let you know). But those gift wrapping rolls are good choice for larger sized origami. For making such a geometric shape origami, I recommend wrapping paper in solid color or with design of small patterns.
