That's a pretty intense model. Good instructions though, I appreciate you putting all the pencil marks on it otherwise that definitely would have been confusing on the smaller corner folds.

Excellent, brilliant, clear and concise. Please don't change anything in your presentation of these videos, they are the perfect speed to fold along with for a beginner. By the time I got to the 6th on I could do it without following the video. Thumbs up and thanks. xx

This is the best tutorial on YT because the verbal directions are perfectly detailed in support of watching the folding. All other YT origami folders should study this vid to improve your vids. Again this vid is the best tutorial of all the hundreds of vids I watched and listened! THE BEST!!!

I started to struggle while following Froy's printed instructions, You helped fill in the bits I found hard. One suggestion, I try to avoid fully folding the entire diagonal that DOESN'T form the 'hull' of the ship-like module. It avoids having an unsightly crease on each of the two largest side panels, and on each side of the centre peak. Just crease the diagonal enough to mark the centre of the square. That mark shows where to fold the side panels into.

fewer words man, fewer words. The image speaks for itself. After each crease you draw a dashed line and it helps greatly, we do not need so much words. Anyway, good video, thanks for sharing

I was looking for this for years. I was only able to find David Mitchell's design for a 6-piece stellated rhombic dodecahedron, which is the same shape as this. However, it is harder to make, smaller, requires a rectangular paper (with extra folds if starting from square), and each module isn't a solid shape (the inside surfaces are all floppy and exposed). This version is so much more satisfying with how it fills the volume perfectly, and how each module "snaps" together at the end into a solid sturdy shape.
@JosephFlemming7 жыл бұрын
wow epic model. I used regular origami paper and at the end the model is very loose and fragile but still looks epic. and yes WAY WAY less talking next time!!!!!!!!!!! lol the crease markings were helpful

A very clear and detailed tutorial, although you should have some practice in origami when you fold it. If you want to use patterned paper you should also have some practice because you can see the folds better when you use paper of one colour.

Hello, and thx for those cristal clear vids! Here are my feedback : 12:02 : you dont need to use the reference crease, you can simply fold until the top left corner meet the vertical center crease. Actualy i even make this corner meet the juction of the vertical and the horizontal crease (not as acurate but works like a charm) 13:52 : you can use the 5 intersection point (just above your left thumb) Here is the correct way to solve this puzzle kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmXcqmZmgNuid6s it's a bit challenging, but it wont hurt the pieces

Am I right in thinking that the complete model isn't very robust? I.e. dropping it from was it height would cause it to break apart?
@EzOrigami8 жыл бұрын
If you fold this model using thick paper, the units actually hold together fairly well. The entire model is held together by friction, so the units probably wouldn't stay together if you dropped the model from any significant height.
