In this video I show you how to make an origami herringbone tessellation. This model is relatively simple, but some of the folds can be quite challenging, especially if you're new to this type of origami.

my mom has a shirt like this. I called it the pineapple shirt because with all of the creases it looked like a pineapple. The shirt itself was very tiny- like a pug could wear it. But because of all of the folds- it could fit any body type. Maybe in the future - all clothing would be made this way- no more figuring out what size you are. It will also reduce costs (less waste) and less stress of shopping.

Suggestion: if you make 2 of those 45 degree creases each time, you can make 2 folds each time instead of one, skipping the step of reversing the long creases. Try it. It is 3 times faster and easier. But do fold the long creases both ways at the begining. I like to finish making all the 45 degree creases before making 2 folds each time.

Nice tip, but I tried it his 2 ways and then your way. I would recommend doing what he did: starting with the first way, because it's easier to do, then once you get the hang of that then do the 2nd way, which is faster, but a little harder to understand. Your way, though, was the fastest, but, it seemed to make it sloppier, like, a lot.

It really just comes down to accurate folding. I consider myself to be fairly experienced with origami but was looking for a more simple model to introduce tesselations to a friend of mine when i found this video. So, with that information in mind, my advice would be to just make sure every single fold you make lines up as perfectly as you can get it. No matter which fold. Try again with this in mind, and let me know how you do! :)
