How to make the origami Moving Cubes 2
Designed by Jo Nakashima (06/2019)
Support my channel! / jonakashima
In this tutorial you'll learn how to make the origami Moving Cubes 2 step by step. This is a modular origami and each cube is made from a single square sheet of paper, all connected without glue nor tape. It's also a very fun action model and the cubes will move when you press two pair of cubes from oposite corners. In this version there's more movement than in the first origami Moving Cubes: the corner cubes goes up and down and middle cubes rotate in different directions.

I almost wanted to restart when I was on the assembly part because the paper wasn't cooperating, but I did it at the end. This is probably my FAVORITE transforming origami. Also, I realized that it could be infinately expanded in all directions.

Had a great time making it! I had some a4 paper laying around, so I cut them into square pieces and used those instead of proper origami sheets. I'll tell you what, using normal sheets of paper is way more finicky than using origami paper! since they are way thicker and rougher than origami sheets, I had to constantly wrestle with the paper flaps to get them tucked inside the cubes, they just did NOT want to get on the sockets AT ALL. Luckily i managed to finish the piece properly with no further problems. Keep at it, Jo!

1. Uses and superimpose the notation of folding in every move. The language of folding is described to perfection. 2. Pauses the video so people can pause and execute the command or the step. 3. No written explanation, just the language of gesture on such a complex task. Sir THIS is education for an architect and engineering. Subscribed.

I watched it 5 f*cking times, spent 5 f*cking hours building it and it still just doesn't work. There's supposed to be one gap to put the flap into but there isn't. Then why tf should I not be able to dislike that. I wasted half a day of my life for nothing.
