Origami Pencil Box Tutorial - DIY - Paper Kawaii

Learn how to make a cool origami pencil box or long box with a hinged lid ♥
You only need 1 sheet of square paper - use thick paper or card ♥

This box is pretty cool and you could use it for other things like as a gift box, glasses case, jewellery box and more!
The hinge works very neatly, especially when reinforced with some glue or double sided tape :)

· 1 square sheet of thick paper or thin card
· A ruler & pencil (to measure 7ths)
· Optional glue
I used paper that was 21 x 21 cm
Use larger paper up to 30 x 30 cm for longer pencils.

I mean I waisted 1 piece of paper. It wasn't a fail but it wasn't a success. I used thick paper and it wouldn't shut properly. It took alot of time to close it so if I used it in school, it would take me too long and it's not too sturdy ether. But it does look cute and great for decoration!

If you have some washi tape, you could add some to the bit that overlaps.. or make an origami bow to stick on? 😀

I stamp my paper first if it is too plain before I start folding. Though you have to let it dry completely before you start folding it, just in case you smudge the ink designs :)

If you're having trouble with the last few steps, put it on 0.5x speed, it helped me

5:03, Don't pake exact fold, I did it and sides of my box just poped out a little bit, just leave 1,5-2mm and it should be fine, just give some space to help this box close correctly :P

It would be nice if you could provide written instructions. For example, where is the first fold supposed to be at? I could only guess what you are doing sometimes. It's not really a great tutorial for someone who's main goal is to do origami tutorials
