I recommend using a paper colored on both sides If you plan to fold also the Santa's Sleigh, use the same size of paper The paper used in this video is called Satogami. Buy it here: www.origami-shop.com/fiche_article.php?ref=8&products_id=3604&affiliate_banner_id=1

This is not a joke or a rhetorical question nor is ment just as a compliment, or negatively. I am seriously, literally asking, How do you come up with this stuff, how ?!
@sarhan_8 жыл бұрын
Noah Bach-Wall its called designing...there is math to it and much more.....its not tht ppl just randomly fold and come up with these models..there is a process. U have to fold a lot of models from diagrams and crease patterns which will help u understand the structure of the models and get familier with them so that u can apply the same techniques and hopefully design ur own model. To go deeper in to designing i strongly recommend that u get the book “design secrets” by Robert lang which will give u a great insight about designing various types of models with lots of different techniques. U can buy the book at : www.origami-shop.com Personally i have designed many models by randomly folding or using the box pleating method. Seriously its not tht hard once u get the hang of it.
@phoenixcreates86868 жыл бұрын
"there is math to it", "there is a process" well no shit, I actually believed Jo takes pieces of paper and folds them a thousand times randomly until he gets a masterpiece. Sarcasm aside I too want to know exactly how it is designed.
@saucerfulofpigs62688 жыл бұрын
I don't know exactly but these people who design these know a lot of different basic foods by memory, and they use those to formulate a complicated design. It takes an engineers mind to envision the end design.

I think my paper is off size or maybe I didn't fold it correctly. I seem to have a tiny separate fold that's preventing me from doing 4:40. I don't think I am using the right paper either, mine feels quite thick and the more folds, the more nobbly it becomes.

I got lost at 5:20ish. After the accordion fold in the center, I had trouble getting those tiny side-corner squash folds. Maybe need more contrast in your video to be sure that I am in the correct location? It is very odd because I am confident it is all correct until 5:05 that I have completed the folds correctly. Then at 5:17 when you pull down to make the corner squash folds, it really looks very different from mine. It seems the mountain fold in the middle of yours disappeared. There is definitely one in mine which makes the squash fold very messy so I am reluctant to keep going.
