How to make an origami Spider

I recommend using some high quality thin paper of 30cm x 30cm (minimum of 24cm x 24cm if your paper is excellent) for this origami spider.
It takes me more than 3 hours to fold this model completely, so be patient and try to fold it precisely. I’m using partial crease patterns to demonstrate some steps and make the instructions clearer and easily, but you’ll probably struggle a bit more to handle the complete sheet of paper.
The hardest steps are the chelicerae and spinnerets. The procedure is the same for both, but spinnerets are a bit harder to make (optionally you can skip them and just hide the flap in the end). It may be easier to learn these steps if you print and fold the partial crease pattern (jonakashima.com.br/2022/08/02/origami-spider/).

The hardest steps are the Chelicerae and Spinnerets (part 5). The procedure is the same for both, but spinnerets are harder to make (optionally you can make it without spinnerets - just hide the flap later). You can print and fold the partial crease patterns to learn these steps better ( jonakashima.com.br/2022/08/02/origami-spider/ )

This video got me back into origami. I started doing origami when I was like 7-8 ish and did it for years. I stopped at around 12 because I was all into video games then and lost interest, and my mom was sad because I was no longer making her things. I saw this video and wanted to buy this expensive paper, and I watched this video about 30 times waiting for the paper to come. I've made now countless things from you and don't plan to stop. And, I've made 6 of these. The first one I made didn't turn out well at all, the legs were falling apart, and decided to quit, my dog agreed by chewing it up a bit before I caught him. The second one I made I loved so much that I wanted to make another spider, so I made the third, which is my most prized origami today. The second one I didn't need I gave to my grandma because she loved it. For the fourth, I ordered 60*60 cm paper so I could make a gargantuan hilarious spider, and he is so cool. I wanted to make the pinnacle of a spider, so I made a fifth one. However, I didn't get enough time to wet fold the legs, and my dog chewed it up when I wasn't around. I am working on my sixth one now, and I ordered some 30*30 cm tissue foil, except instead of being black this one is "chocolate" colored. After this one, I will have 3 really good spiders.

yo bro, i have a similar story. i started when i was 5 and was basically addicted to it till i was 11 and i think its coz i moved to an all boys school and everyone was growing quickly so I didn't really have a purpose to keep folding. I just recently watched one of his videos on folding and scorpion and oh man its not perfect or anything because i used regular paper but its so good and this shi actually makes me happy so i think im gonna continue on doing this.

We have to appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into this Video, like for example the editing with the crease pattern in the top right corner; deviding the video in individal parts, providing us with all the information like the best paper we could use and so on, using partial crease patterns to show us the steps better and much more. Jo Nakashima just simply makes the best tutorials! Thanks a lot really this is awesome!

I never thought you would release a tutorial this complex. It will be interesting to see if anyone can actually fold it as you almost certainly need double tissue and methylcellulose to be able to shape it properly and it would probably be a nightmare to try and figure out level shifters and pythagorean stretches without prior knowledge of box pleated crease patterns. It's really interesting to see the creative methods you use to precrease, collapse and also the level of shaping detail you go into before you even touch glue, which is something I look up to and hope to implement more when folding my own or other peoples designs from the crease pattern.
@hyperblitz3738
@hyperblitz3738 Жыл бұрын
I have folded many complex models by Satoshi Kamiya, Brian Chan, etc, including the ancient dragon. I plan to make it tomorrow using 40x40cm Black double tissue as a practice. Honestly I'm really excited considering every spider I've done including Langs Tarantula has felt easy (excluding shaping Langs Tarantula because shaping it's legs is a nightmare), and I want a spider that feels challenging!
@jasperfeldschuh3644
@jasperfeldschuh3644 Жыл бұрын
@@hyperblitz3738 I'm not sure why you would find this spider challenging if you've folded the ancient dragon and other complex models. Your folding skills seem to be a lot better than mine but even I don't think this model is that challenging. It's just basic box pleating with regular level shifters. Good luck with it anyway though
@hyperblitz3738
@hyperblitz3738 Жыл бұрын
@@jasperfeldschuh3644 honestly I doubt it'll be hard too, but I say hard as in one of the hardest spiders I've folded. In reality of you folded some complex models then this model isn't that hard. Like I managed to do it first try in around 4 hours. Of course when I made that post, I didn't know if the spider would be easy for me or not, however now that I made it, I can say it's easier than Langs Tarantula, but harder than Brian's Wolf spider.
