Overall this was a good introduction, though here and there it started sounding like a devotional discourse. In the development of Indian philosophy, a time line of the development would have made more sense. A one-or-two-line highlight of each of the 9 schools of thought too would have done greater justice to the topic. The teacher's zeal is appreciated. Thank you.

Neither chicken nor egg but life ( PURUSHA) which expressed itself through verious life forms ( PRAKURITI ) which evolved from microscopic single celled organisms to complex multi- celled organism such as humans. Best example is DHASA AVATARS of vishnu where gradual evolution of life forms is showcased. Which is a greatest testemony for the indepth analysis and understanding about evoulution of life in ancient india.

Why there was an attempt to put aside Jain ,Bauddha,Charvak as nastik...?And why there was an attempt to save sankhya from being classified as nastik..?What was the reason behind it? What did intellectuals of that time wanted exactly...?

You have to understand that Nastik and Aastik are just names of two different schools those who believed in Vedas Vs those who did not. Nothing was put aside they were always mentioned. The classifications are done by great men. if you are good enough you can revise them and classify the way you want as long as you are able to convince intellectuals
