The massagatae who defeated Cyrus were located in central Asia. While it is true that Cyrus went northwards, this was northeast not northwest towards the pontic steppe.

You are right, I accidentally swapped the positions of the Sarmatians and Massagetae to opposite sides of the Caspian in the era. A genuine thanks for catching my mistake (tbh I got a little lost in how Herodotus writes)

@@SlavicDeerGirlGreat video though, I don't think I've seen as informative as a video on Slavic history as this one on KZbin!

12:00 12:08 etc I had very very very hard time to understand what is the name of the culture - starting, repeating, rewinding … and again and again (taken in account that the pre-proto-slavic people are in the center of the peace - it is quite a pity) Lusatians… And what were the 15:55 people? … Stringniats? trigneats? Anyway: generally- THANK YOU for great and very dense video. This go far and beyond what I could learn (and learned) through studying interlocked articles about origin of Slavs on Wikipedia and other encyclopedic sources. I was especially interested in the time of Huns, why Slavs weren’t mentioned in any historical source regarding the invasion forces (?) (were Slavs at that time in Polesie out of reach of migrating armies? Were they in this way immune to coercion?) and How they repopulated the now empty regions… and of course the very area of Slavic origin before the Huns. Was it Polesie (make sense) Vistula river? Combination? What was valuable to me was the enumeration of various competing theories beyond that. Thank You. (btw some big subtitles/titles for every new introduced term/group would be great. Sometimes as a listener I have no connection between textual form of the name and the pronunciated form - like Scythians here - I have read about them since I was kid, yet in my head the pronunciation was always different so I didn’t recognized it was them You talked about. Sorry for the embarrassing request)

the people at 12:08 are "Lusatians", their name is written on the map but might be hard to notice with all the intersecting lines, they can be found as "the bronze age Lusatians", as "Lusatian" is also the name of their geographic area. The people who sound like "Stringniats" are the "Trzciniec" (Polish-derived names sound different than the same letters in english, or even other slavic languages, its an odd duck), mentioned a few minutes before as the precursors to the Tumulus and Lusatians. The people (mannequins) at 15:57 are the Przeworsk, which is mentioned in the caption but might be covered by the youtube progress bar if you're watching on mobile

@@SlavicDeerGirlThank You! Meanwhile I expanded my post above for actually more (perhaps) helpful feedback beyond that first impression. Please have a look 😊 btw I speak both Czech and Polish and I kinda didn’t recognize the Trzciniec although I can pronounce it perfectly 😊 … although by eliminating everything else I kinda thought it must be it. (I had to stop it and think about it a lot) (Maybe part of my trouble comes from microphone somewhat flattening your voice here … maybe?) You had poured a lot of work and effort into this big overview, I only hope this my observation doesn’t sting You. I really appreciated this video! Thank You

Tačnost...oko 80%... Proto-Slavic "land" before invasion of Huns spread from Baltic to Caucas... We were various tribes including Sarmatian,Alans,Ants... Back then we didnt have comon name as Slavs. That name comes after Hunic invasion...Slavs from Caucas and Ukraine area comes to central europe and panonia step with Huns as slaves or vasals moving Goths.Baltic(north) Slavic tribes at that time dont have much problem with Huns.Huns main goal was Franks and Roman empire. In Balkans are still Ilirian tribes. When Huns were finaly left, for a short time all Slavic tribes were getered in central and north europe exept "far" east, but for a short time.Soon,Avars and Madyar invasion is on the way(6-7-8 AC) and they split Slavic tribes on a half.Modern southern Slavs goes to Balkan, north and north-west Slavs stayed were they were. That is how Serbian Balkan is separated with Luzatian Searbs...to the present day.Today we are split by non-slavic nations Austria,Hungary,Romania as you know Greatings from Serbia🇷🇸

it is not possible to listen to this. The speaking has crackles and lisps, there is no cadence, the pitch and tone are off and downright bad, there is no inflection!!! No, no, no. you can't speak like this for an hour and expect people to listen, no matter how good the content, how well organized, or how interesting.

the majority of people are disagreeing with you, so I guess you need to get better at listening. Just be real and say that you hate how autistic people speak next time
