Hi there! Some time ago I've asked you about the ramp on the bass. Now I've got my Warwick Streamer and I would like to get the tone similar to yours. What did you use for such a sound?
@fireemblemistrash755 жыл бұрын
For fast tremelo shit I would just use a double slap flick motion (Thumb, rotate so pinky hits next percussively, and continue to play fast) But this up stroke-down stroke middle finger makes so much sense lol Nice cover fellow Mike Flores lover :) Edit: I change my mind, this is impossible...
@anterdox6214 жыл бұрын
Mike Flores' middle finger tremolo technique is very impressive, but I think it's one of reasons he's sometimes almost inaudible in the mix, the bass gets too muddy with that speed I think

man pls explain me how that middle finger tremolo thing works :(
@Nycriz8 жыл бұрын
it's not a difficult thing to understand,it's like having a pick.you can play downstrokes as well as upstrokes with the tip of the middle finger.this gives you a great deal of speed but you need to practise your stamina on this technique because certain nerves and tenonds are being overused so they get sore and tired quickly.just practise the technique and try to keep your arm and hand loose to maintain longer playing.
@lurking1627 жыл бұрын
What exactly is Mike Flores' finger technique? You seem to replicate it perfectly but i'm still having a hard time figuring it out.
@Nycriz7 жыл бұрын
it's the technique that Mike Flores from Origin made it well known to the death metal bass players where he uses his mid fingers like a pick and produces up and down strokes in order to reach higher speeds.i just named it Mike Flores.call it whatever you want.
@lurking1627 жыл бұрын
Huh. Interesting. Lol I know what i'm going to try and learn next.

Man this was pretty intense :D Kinda interesting looking technique at the beginning of the video, could you tell me more about it? Is it just to reach the required speed or what? Anyways sick cover dude!
@Nycriz8 жыл бұрын
Thanx mate.it's just how Mike Flores plays these bass lines.Once you get used to it,it just makes more sence using this technique on Origin bass lines.you need to practise a lot cause nerves and tenonts get easily sore with this technique so you need much endurance.

How many fingers do you use to play the first two riffs?
@Nycriz9 жыл бұрын
+baku ra i use three fingers. index,middle and ring finger.
@jjohn15519 жыл бұрын
it somehow seems as if you were using only middle and ring

to be honest i don't see a point in this nail technique, it gives you speed but very little attack. And also you are not going to have a lot of punch in the mix. I would rather play half time but with more powerful attack.Overall it's my opinion and it is still an excellent cover!
@Nycriz7 жыл бұрын
yes and that's why pedals such compressors and preamps are there for.i am just doing the cover as the composer of the song did and exploring the techniques.in the end it's on the mindset of every bassist how he is gonna play this.i have to say though with this technique it's easier to reach higher speed but it's true that hasn't got tha same attack as the traditional finger technique.
@sovietcomrade49707 жыл бұрын
Nycriz I'm pretty sure that I am less experienced bass player than you)))) For how long have you been playing?
@Nycriz7 жыл бұрын
approximately for 14 years now.but i've been also playing other instruments before bass too like el. guitar and bouzouki.So about 18-19 years.
@Nycriz7 жыл бұрын
after working on this technique on my own for the past months i'm happy to say that gives also much attack so i strongly recommend it for high speed.this technique seems to produce more power on every single stroke that the three finger technique so more power goes to the string.
@probassistNOT7 жыл бұрын
Nycriz what's your technique, if it's not a secret? middle finger up findex down middle down index up or somehow different?
