That Friday night “Who Shot J. R.”, was the night before my Wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner at our apartment. Everyone wanted to watch Dallas. We took our television upstairs, it was a large room; and everyone watched Who Shot J R, that’s what we ended up calling our party. The date 11/21/1980.

I recall the very 1st time I ever laid eyes on Dallas and JR.....It was 1978 and our gig was cancelled due to being double booked, so I got home right after 10pm and sat down next to my wife on the couch. It didn't take long for me to ask her, "Who in the heck is that guy?" My wife said "JR Ewing". After about 5 minutes watching, my next question was "What freakin' show is this?" "Dallas", she said without a blink....and the rest is history as I never again booked the band on Friday nights again, and have seen every episode, every movie, every re-boot and spinoff. Just waiting on the next one now.

@@johndaugherty7779 It would have been great if Donna Reed could have been her own character on "Dallas." As wonderful a woman and an actress as Donna was, having anyone else play Miss Ellie was just too much of an obstacle to overcome. Howard Keel was a good addition to the show. Great and charming actor. It's very sad that they weren't respected properly.

Dallas started when I went away to college but my parents watched it every Friday night. I never got into it for several years but watched it for many episodes and years later. I feel somewhat nostalgic but also forlorn when I see the actors now many years later and aged. It reminds me that I too am not that 22 year old anymore either.

@rolandofgilead433 жыл бұрын
lake yeah it is nice when you hear stuff like that but if it is a show I love and later on after it's run is over or even during it run it comes out such as tisha Campbell going after Marty Lawrence for sexual harassment during the shows run which as far as I know it didn't hurt the show I'm not gonna stop watching it cause of stupid shit he or she and that's just in general I'm not saying she was asking for it... I just meant in general when it comes to tv shows or movies. Marlon Brando was said to be a huge pain in the ass and for some he was and for others he wasn't. But well you get my point I'm sure
