Original Colt 1861 Navy 36 Caliber Civil War Era Black Powder Revolver Super Rare!!

This is one of my favorite firearms because of the rich history that you can sense around it. These were designed for the Navy with less recoil than the 1860 model that was issued to the Army. They were sometimes preferred by calvary because of the lighter recoil they offered. A very iconic firearm all around. I hope you Enjoy!

Thats a nice pistol and holster. Rare to see the set together. Id invest in preserving the leather and have the pistol serviced by a gunsmith with a stellar reputation.

Thanks, yeah it's nice having the set. I should preserve the leather a bit and I may have it serviced if I decide to sell or part with it. For now I just keep it lightly oiled up and have it displayed in a light up case.

Thank you. Was the barrel that you popped off a forged single piece which was welded together. I am curious as to how they made these guns 😊

Hello, thanks for the comment. Yes the barrel is a forged single piece. They did form a dovetail joint for the loading lever onto the bottom end as well as (I’m assuming) silver soldered the front sight into place.
