Thank you so for sharing your beautiful dolls house. It is made more precious because every piece has its own story. I think your dollhouse is the most special I have seen. You’re not aiming to make it perfect and have your dolls living in a palace. Instead it is real and honest and I love it. Many blessings to you.

My father passed away in February 2020. I wanted to memorialize him. I suddenly found dollhouses. I built a dollhouse dedicated to him. He was a jack of all trades. I know in my heart, if he was alive today, he would of loved what I'm doing. He would of been part of it all. Thank you for sharing your videos. And of course, the beautiful relationship you had with your Dad. I thank God, I had that with my Dad too. I was blessed. And still, am. I feel he guided me to miniatures as a way to heal and find much happiness in a lifelong joy. Miniatures. I'm going to be a grandmother soon. I can't wait to pass on the minature legacy.

How lovely and enchanting! Now I know where you get so much of your talent from! What sweet memories you surely have. My dad was very talented too, and of course, loved cars. Also, I remember reading Paddington Bear to my children, he was definitely a favorite of ours. I've loved dollhouses since childhood. Long, long ago my uncle had built a scale model of Mt. Vernon, and I always made a beeline for the basement whenever I visited. It was on a big dining table down there, and it totally fascinated me! I remember peeking inside and seeing the furniture and rugs, and even the carpet on the stairs. Surely your children got a peek at your dollhouse, I'm sure they were fascinated as well! You did a wonderful job, right down to the painted stairs, you really got the perspective right on those. Thank you so much, can't wait for the next tour!

One of my very favorite memories is when he made a tiny town for me in my grandmother's garden plot, (before she had planted of course). I just love your dad's room and the touching story connected to your dolls house! Your idea of redoing items to suit your vision is so refreshing, as many videos I see on miniatures and doll houses become pedantic and loose the innate charm of fantasy. I really like the idea of different scales and not restricting myself to all 1:12, for example. Maybe because I enjoyed reading "Alice in Wonderland" when I was young.

I love this!! I was thinking about making some kind of tribute to my family. Probably a living room set up for Christmas. I like the idea of a room for your dad. My dad had an engineering degree and liked working on cars too. And boats, little ones. He had model car that used steam power. The attic is just precious. I noticed the floor in the girls room right away. I never saw anyone paint a floor like that. My bedroom had purple shag carpet, and when it was time to paint the walls they asked me what color, and I said green. They got a pale green so I had green and purple in the room, like your drapes!! I really wish I had done those miniature of the month club subscription. Are they real wood? I'm just older than you, graduated in 77. Say hi to your dad for me.

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 no I meant if the House of Miniature stuff was real wood. I have never set up an eBay account because I didn't want to be tempted, I should try to sell stuff but it's gotten so complicated, I tried to help someone, size of box, cost to ship, how can you know until you mail it and know where it's going?

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 I have been collecting tiny things for the last 40 years, but I have never found the dollhouse that I wanted. I have purchased several Greenleaf kits over time, but none of them were what I wanted. I was even thinking of bashing them together. But then i saw this massive house in the junkier section of an antique shop. Luckily I was shopping with my best friend who has a truck, so I could get it home. It cost $50 and that was exactly what I had on me. After some research, I discovered that it is Greenleaf's "Garfield", the largest dollhouse they make. It needs a lot of work, but it is perfect. I went looking for KZbin channels for ideas and help and that is how I found you. Your channel is by far and away the best one out there for sheer inventive genius and I love it.

How do you decide what to paint and modify? If something is valuable, how do you determine that?
@littlegretchensworkshop76652 ай бұрын
I usually only modify mass produced very common pieces. lf l get something that's damaged, broken or missing pieces l may modify it to repair it. But if it SIGNED by an Artisan, or really RARE or "branded" by company no longer in business it's likely l won't modify it. But there are times I'll break all the rules to suit my liking. Because at the end of the day it's YOUR DOLLHOUSE, and ONLY RULES ARE THE ONES YOU MAKE UP!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Since your children couldn’t play with this dollhouse, did they have a toy one they got to play with? When I was still living at home, we had my adult hobby dollhouse, and then a different one for children to play with lol.
@littlegretchensworkshop7665 Жыл бұрын
I showed them how to made a dollhouse from card board, 1/6 fashion doll size, so they definitely have miniature stuff. But MOMMY"S HOUSE was off limits! LOLOLOLOL! Thank you for watching!

“Didn’t you allow your children to play with your dollhouse?” “Absolutely not.” 😂😂😂 Idk why that made me laugh. Anyway I can see you get a lot of your loving goodness from having a dad like that.

My Children were Wonderful! But children in general a have no respect for delicate things, they don't mean to be reckless, they just are....LOLOLOLOLOL! My Daddy was awesome! He didn't introduce me to 12th scale miniatures until i was 10 years old. Although I totally LOVED miniatures, but I ruined more things than i want to admit! Daddy was very patient with me, and he would just replace what i ruined.Not sure if I have that kind of GRACE, so My Dollhouse was OFF LIMITS! LOL! Thank you for watching!
